This really is a "must see" for anyone visiting northern Spain. Disappointing that they charge for entry but it at least means it's not too crowded inside. Apart from the obvious tomb of El Cid there are amazing examples of exquisite stonework and decoration inside. Well worth the entrance fee.

This Cathedral is worth spending 2 hours walking around. The hand held commentary is informative without being too drawn out.

Fantastic building even if your not religious, it leads to lots of squares with plenty of shops and restaurants, with many centre hotels around.

I have been in larger cathedrals (st. Peters and St. Paul's) and I have been in older cathedrals (Cologn and Santa Maria Maggiore) but I do not believe I have ever been in a cathedral whose beauty grabs me and forces me to appreciate it like the Burgos cathedral does. It is among the priciest churches I have ever visited,... More

The cathedral is very well presented, though like Leon and Salamanca, the voice on the English guide belongs to someone who doesn't understand ecclesiastical English. I guess a Spaniard who worked in South Africa. A church is not a temple, it never has three naves, a tomb doesn't rhyme with comb and so on. That niggle apart, this place is... More

We took the tour (enter on the south side of the cathedral) but also participated in the 19:30 Sat Mass (enter the front doors of the cathedral). The priest was exceptional and the interior of the church was beautiful. The priest asked all peregrinos to come up to the alter for a special blessing and it was a very genuine... More

The cathedral is very beautifull and a real museum. You have to pay. You visit the many corners and rooms of the cathedral. The best cathedral we ever visited.

Pretty much like all cathedrals not worth paying to look around it. The outside more interesting than the inside

We visited during pilgrimage on St James Way and were absolutely stunned by the beauty and size of the Cathedral. Definitely in Top 5 of the world. Too bad we did not have enough time, hope to return someday and dedicate at least half day. Audio guide is highly recommended(and good shoes). If you have time, you can visit in... More

The stained glass windows in this cathedral are an excellent example. Try Colours are stunning. Take the self guided tour and listen to when and why they were constructed. Also how the cathedral was saved from falling down.
