Even after living in Switzerland for nearly a year and seeing quite a few beautiful churches, this one blew my mind. From the moment we rounded a street corner to the last views of it as we left, I was impressed. The exterior is a superb example of intricate Gothic architecture and the interior is even more incredible, showcasing a... More

A mix of architectonic styles, very beautiful and interesting. Beautiful environment too and with a lot of places to have some tapas.

Built from 13th to 16th centuries, this gothic-style cathedral stands out in the cityscape of Burgos. For a fee of 7€ (4,50€ for students) visitors are provided acess to the church with handy audio guides that contain incredible amount of information (and somewhat annoying background music) on the history and different objects inside the church. The wood engravings of choir... More

The building should be admired from all angles. Walk around the outside of the entire cathedral, then see the inside. Expected a bit more from El Mio Cid's resting place but admired the Capilla del Condestable.

BEAUTIFUL beyond words......not just the cathedral itself but the waterway before the arch, the grand plaza with wonderful assortments of stores and eateries, the side streets and all. Don't forget to look left and right by focusing only on the cathedral or you will miss the beautiful bronze statues... let's just call them the lady and the man. Below is... More

For pilgrims who are walking on the Camino de Santiago, Burgos is a major landmark. The cathedral is the work of dedicated people who wanted to build a spectacular tribute to God. And they wildly succeeded! It takes a couple of hours to completely tour this work of art. It's peaceful, serene, and filled with history. The architecture is phenomenal,... More

Burgos Cathedral informs the visitor of the extent of Spain's wealth, fortunes and faith during its medieval and colonial periods. Exquisitely crafted religious art, sculptures and stone work are on display to amaze the viewer, plus it is the final resting place of Spain's El Cid and his wife under the central dome. Ranks hight amongst the important Catholic cathedrals... More

Superb gothic Chatedral, no words to describe, built over a 4 century Span...she just rises above the town of Burgos, Majestic and Imperious! If you go to Burgos you will not miss her, she needs to be finely discovered from The outside and the outside, a great beauty and history.

Such a large, impressive and very old cathedral - not to be missed! Many gorgeous chapels & displays, with lots of impressive art & soaring spires & domes, artifacts, gold & silver. El Cid is buried here with his wife. The price of admission includes easy-to-use handheld individual microphones in several languages, including English, describing everything. Added bonus - free... The artwork, the architecture, the history!! Well worth the admission. Present your Pilgrim Passport for discount entry fee. You'd better plan on being there all day, there is so much to see.
