We are in danger of getting Cathedral overload but this is really stunning. Actually what really helps is a better than average audio guide which is entertaining, informative and flexible. Whether you go to enjoy the majesty, seek some solitude or look at the art; there is something to be admired at each turn. The paintings which remain so vivid... More

without question, one of the most spectacular Catholic Cathedrals in all the world and the finest in all of Spain. It is an impressive structure inside and out and well worth the price of admission. A very famous El Greco painting along with other major art is on display.

Enjoyed very much the visit, thought I must say that the entrance fee is quite high. The art collection is really impressive.

Make sure you take your time to take it all in - the audio guides are valuable help to make sense of all the splendors around.

A really vast building and the choir is deemed to be the most spectacular in Europe. The stunning carving of the choir stalls and miserecords and the amazing double organs are truly unique. I wish there had been music being played. The Sanctuary is a mini Art Gallery full of the works of famous painters.

My review is a little bias as we were lucky enough to attend the huge 12pm Easter Sunday mass in the high alter. The cathedral was the most amazing and beautiful I've seen and we've seen all the top ones in France and Italy. They sure know how to do Easter mass there as it nearly bought tears to my... More

This 700-odd years old building was constructed over some three centuries and, as a result, is a bit of a hotchpotch of styles. You can clearly see that at the main façade where magnificent arch of Puerta del Perdón is flanked on one side by the splendid tower and rather bland-looking Mozarabic chapel on the other. Still, the whole structure... More

I visited the Cathedral as part of an all day excursion from Madrid. The Cathedral was the best part of an overall excellent tour. I really enjoyed viewing the vast amount of craftsmanship, art and beauty in this grand scale Cathedral. The second of El Greco's famous masterpieces is not to be missed. Highly recommended if in historic Toledo.

Fascinating, both architecturally and historically. Artwork included as part of the cathedral tour is worthy of a very good museum collection. It is worth splurging for a private guide to lead you around this cathedral. We used Elena Perez (MEPRUIZ@TELEFONICA.NET) for a 3-hour Toledo tour, with the Cathedral tour using about half of our allotted time.
