The entire city of Toledo is special in so many ways. It is the blending of history, art, and various civilizations that make it very special. The cathedral is one of the best pieces of history in Toledo. Do not miss.

This cathedral was one of my favorites. Different from the Seville Cathedral as this cathedral focused less on the side chapels and more on the art and murals on the walls. Up near the front is a beautiful mural/ marble alter that goes from floor to ceiling and when it reaches the ceiling, there is a huge window to the... More

We saw many cathedrals on our trip through Southern Spain. This was our first, so it was wrapped up with jet lag...but I remember it being interesting, particualrly the baroque feature in the ceiling. In winter, the cathedrals are execptionally cold, so bring a scarf!

This is about being Grand and being Sumptuous. This is so "too much" as if size and accumulation were the main signs for God Worship. The whole monument is amazingly vast, with many monuments in the monument! Each chapel has it's own treasures, In the middle, the choir shows a surprising wall of decoration and wall sculptures of Christ life.... More

When in Toledo it is a must to visit this Gothic cathedral. The architecture and paintings are definitely worth seeing and spending time just wandering to view it all. Try to visit when it is not so busy. Take the time to view the ceiling, the treasure room and the wall of marble behind the altar, just a few of... More

This is an opulent and striking building, with a surprising variety of masterful architecture, statuary, paintings, jewels, carvings, etc. I'm told it is the most magnificent Gothic cathedral in Spain, and I believe it. The splendor and craftsmanship go on and on. The paintings, particularly a handful by El Greco, are glorious. However, the long lines, the atmosphere in the... More

I wanted to pay with card for two tickets - 16EUR - and I was sent to get cash. I could not find the ATM they recommended (was not there I guess) so I had to go all the way up to plaza Zocodover. As I wanted to pick up the audio-guide, a bossy employee warned me that they close... More
