We visited Madrid for 2 days and took a day trip to Toledo. What a beautiful, historic town. It feels like you are back in those years when they weren't modernized like they are today. So much of the structure remained the same. Smack in the middle of all of this, is the Cathedral of Toledo. Pictures don't do it... More

difficult to convey the majestic craftsmanship and depth of religious feeling of the building. More memorable even than Notre Dame

Amazing altarpiece, peaceful cloister, not too crowded with tourists once we had negotiated the queue for tickets, (queue is in the sun so be prepared). Audio guide is very helpful, (included in the ticket price), gives good information re the historical development of the building, and explains some of the architecture, and features of the altarpiece, choir stalls etc. Some... In fact, it is the fourth largest cathedral in the world. Very rich treasures and art on display with many stories of the origination of those. You definitely need a guide, in order to get the full story. Be prepared for many stair steps and a lot of hilly, narrow streets to get to the Cathedral.

I thought my family was cathedraled out, but we decided to visit the cathedral of Toledo anyway. It was one of the most impressive cathedrals I have seen anywhere. I thought the 8e price a little steep, but with the free audio guide, it wasn't bad. The interior was spectacular, and there were many interesting areas to visit.

Had a great time visiting the cathedral. The audio guide (free) helped to understand it's features in a deeper way. Somehow it reminded me of NotreDame (in another proportion, of course). I haven't seen all the Cathedrals in Europe, but if you are in Toledo i recomend it.

One of the highlights of the day trip in Toledo. There are a lot to see inside the cathedral. If you are interested in church history and architecture, you probably want to budget 2 hours for this tour. The audio guide is well designed, but you need to look for the numbers on a separate map.
