The plaza is full of kids and couples in the evening ... Lots of people watching ... But the cathedral is spectacularly lighted as well, presenting a great view.

I was born in Toledo and it was a very special experience to be married there. Besides from that the Ayntamiento is spectacular! We were married in Carlos V´s room. The furniture and tapestries are original XV Century. There are beautiful reliefs on the ceiling and a satue of the Virgin Mary. Going into the old part of the building... More

The old town of Toledo is walking distance from the station but you might want to do that on the way back. We took a bus from the station to Zocodover. We bought a small map and then spent a wonderful 4 or 5 hours exploring the streets, shops, little churches, and cafes of Toledo. There are very nice restaurants... More

When I was in Toledo, that little town made me felt like I'm back in time, walked through all that winding narrow streets and 3 cultures (Jewish, Christian and Muslims) in one town. The magnificent Toledo Cathedral is a place to visit. It is in Plaza de Ayuntamiento. In that little plaza, beside the beautiful Toledo Church, you also can... More

The City Hall building was designed by the famous architect Juan Herrera, who designed El Escorial. The building is elegant and there is a large plaza between it and the Cathedral. At the ground floor there is a tourist office where one can get a free map of the city.

Toledo is an amazing and beautiful Spanish city high on a table (see photos), that was once the capital of Spain, with a great deal to do and see in its busy streets, including a magnificent Cathedral. Our visit there was however 'made' in a most unusual way, when we came across a young lady busking by the Cathedral, playing... More

Toledo is so compact and densely built, finding a sizeable square in order to step back and better see the old architecture was a pleasant surprise and the space to stop without possibly blocking foot traffice helped us re-orient ourselves after consulting our map.
