The park is amazing! You can get here by foot from the beach area of Santander in about 2 hours walk, by attending the stairs behind Hotel Ciqoui and take time to admire the views and take amazing photos. If you are lazy tipe you can go also by bus, nr 13 which take you right up to the lighthouse!... More

We started our Santander trip by visiting the lighthouse and walking around in the surrounding hills. You can have amazing views over the coastline and with good weather this is perfect for a picnick with friend. Surely recommendable to spend an hour there walking around and enjoying the view!

The walk to the Lighthouse had been recommended but we left this until last and when the weather turned to intermittent showers. But hey, we had umbrellas ... Eventually we found the path - don't go to the end of the promenade/esplanade - and off we set to walk up the coastal path. After a short while there is an... More

This little art museum is wonderful and walking out to the tip of land jutting out into the sea is spectacular. You can see the palace and lighthouse island from here, and a lot of the coast in both directions. It was very windy and rainy the day we were there but still a very good experience. It is free... Gorgeous walk from the town right up past the small beaches to the heather fields right on the edge of the cliffs (we even saw a hummingbird and lizards!), not one for the faint hearted! Panoramic views of the whole of santander excellent photography spot.

We walked all the way from Santander port to the light house and back again. Really nice walk but I would recommend taking the bus back to central Santander for the return.

We often come up to the Cabo Mayor after shopping in Santander to get away from the city and feel like you're totally outdoors. Walking to the end of the peninsular is just fab, windswept and raw, with great views back over the city and its beaches. The art gallery is also a nice place to wander round, I've been... More

Cabo Mayor Lighthouse is beautifully situated on a cliff of rocks towering directly above the ocean. The wind blows pretty hard on top of the cliff, but it's not so steep that you are afraid of falling off. This was the most peaceful place I visited in Spain. This is one of those places that you can really feel a... More
