My brother who lives in Spain took myself, my husband and our two girls (6 and 2) to Cabarceno Nature Park. We had a great day, although it is very high up therefore you cannot underestimate the effects of the sun and we bought the girls caps to protect them from the sun. The views are amazing up amongst the... More

Based upon roaring reviews on trip advisor , I went there today - mid July - it was hot - about 28 degrees. First disappointment - or misunderstanding - it is not a safary park by a long way, but a zoo with (big) cages/confinement spaces where you drive around from parking to parking. Plenty of visitors - as me... More

Hello Johan, First of all let us thank you for your opinion on Cabárceno. As you say, it is not a safari park but a nature park were animals live in semiliberty: big areas and restricted human intervention (only medical care an feeding). It is true that, on hot days, animals may not be easy to see, as they look... More

Nice views and good animals care. Incredible 'Rapaces' show. Careful with weather... Too much sun could do a tired visit. Don't forget umbrellas and caps...just in case :) You can take your own food and use the space for it inside the park. We ate in the restaurant near rapaces side. The 'albondigas de la abuela' was quite good. Do... More

I had never even heard of Cabarceno Nature Park until I arrived in Santander, so glad I found out about it as in my opinion it is an unmissable place to visit if you are in Northern Spain. Its not cheap to get in, from memory around €24 per person, but it is well worth every penny as it is... More

It took me more than 2.5 hours to reach this park coming from south of France, to realize that this park is no ordinary park. First thing we discover when the woman on the gate handled us a map, is that the park is so huge we have to travel by car to see the animals. In fact, it takes... More

The park covers a vast area and looks very natural, more so than any zoo or safari park I have been to in Britain. A full day is advisable to see all the enclosures and admire everything. Definitely worth visiting if you are in Cantabria.

We paid extra to do the 'wild' tour where a trained vet takes you up close to pet and feed giraffes, zebras, a rhino, and an elephant. We were kissed by a sea lion and held an eagle on our arms. We also went into the bear area in a vehicle! This 'up close and personal' experience with these Animals... More

I loved my day trip to Cabareceno, however make sure you take a drink with you. I am not a fan of the midday sun, and as you are constantly stopping to park to view the different aspects of the park with not a lot of shade take supplies. The park is huge! There are many landscapes and a wide... More

The old iron mine makes for a stunning red landscape but the animals are the stars of the show. We literally couldn't drag ourselves away from the gorillas and the brown bears. Even difficult to spot animals like the wolves and cheetahs were up and active. Don't miss the excellent bird show and sea lions. A great day out for... More
