The scenery was amazing, I rented a car and drove from PDLA with my 3 children in tow. It is a long drive think it took me the best part of 1hour and a half. I stoped off in one or too spots to take pics. The queue was very long(30mins ) for the cable car and my daughter cried... More

We visited in March 2012. The landscape is so interesting here. If you want to get to the summit of Teide you must have a permit. Without it you will not be allowed to to the top. Rather than take the cable car we walked up the mountain, it took 4 hours approx. While it is a strenous climb at... More

As volcanoes go, this is pretty user friendly. Climbing to the summit is a challenge for even the fittest as the altitude kicks in, but with preparation it's nothing that should trouble you too much. The views from the summit, if the weather is your friend, are quite excellent. Be warned though, the mountain fills up fast, and only after... More

We visited the mountain/volcano by a small tour bus. The cabel car is expensive (25euros) but if your going to the mountain, you may as well pay the money to go up. Views were spectacular! I suggest to take good walking shoes for the walking at the top, and allow yourself (if possible) time to walk around at the top.... More

First of all, don't book an organised coach tour up here. It is easy to get the Titsa bus which cost us 33 Euro for 2 adults and 2 children return from Los Christianos. The drive up is incredible and it feels very odd to be driving above the clouds. The landscape is stunning. Don't do as we did and... More

Before you go up Mount Teide, check the weather forecast, as wandering around in low cloud with no views is no fun at all! (www.snow-forecast.com/resorts/Teide/6day/trip). Be aware that it can be quite cold at the top, so take a fleece or anorak with you. The air is quite thin, so riding the cable car is not recommended for pregnant women,... More

We queued for about 90 mins, but it was at a busy time. Cost 25 euros each, so not cheap. Luckily it was free for our son who is 4. It was a shame that they cram lots of people in the cable car as you were literally squashed up against the window so it was difficult to enjoy the... More

Hired a car, so had to see Mount Teide, great adventure driving up there, we had a mixture of weather all in one day, sun, rain & fog. Got to chair lift but not working because of ice, not disappointed as not god with heights, the scenery is still fab, a different world. More

Well worth the trek. Maybe the hire car suffered but we didn't. Amazing place, weird and wonderful views. Very hot, as it is above the clouds. More
