We visited the mountain/volcano by a small tour bus. The cabel car is expensive (25euros) but if your going to the mountain, you may as well pay the money to go up. Views were spectacular! I suggest to take good walking shoes for the walking at the top, and allow yourself (if possible) time to walk around at the top.... More

Hired a car, so had to see Mount Teide, great adventure driving up there, we had a mixture of weather all in one day, sun, rain & fog. Got to chair lift but not working because of ice, not disappointed as not god with heights, the scenery is still fab, a different world. More
