My visit was made to a degree under protest, but holidays are a little about compromise. So off we went two couples, mature but not in our dotage, to look at flowers? The entry price was modest in current terms and I was pleasantly surprised that gardens have a few surprises and one particular highlight - the cafe. I am... More

Its a private huge garden which had been open to the public due to its richness in history. This is were Agatha Christie got some inspiration to write two novels. She used to sit in the garden and write. Very interesting! It was on a 15 mins walk from our hotel.

Historical old garden. Good outdoor tearoom. Cost 7 euros. Has a pond. Many different plants. It is a good climb up the hill but reachable from the town.

A lovely spot in Puerto de la Cruz. Well worth the visit & close to the Botanical Gardens too. The orchids are stunning but are all situated on the left had side as you go in so don't miss them! Nice tea room situated in front of the old 18th century house where Agatha Christie spent a lot of time

Agatha Christie's and Alexander Gumbolt's place. The garden tries to keep the ambiance of the 19th century. It is a nice walk with a lot of surprises. A great araucaria, then the oldest drago tree of the town, then fountains and a memorial of A. Christie, and everywhere copies of Marianne North paintings of the place/

It was so well maintained and imaginatively planned. There were a huge number of Orchids in bloom and so tastefully displayed. The pride of the place is the 600 year old Dragon tree.

We went twice, as it was so pretty. Lovely gardens. Look out for the Iguana..he's so still I nearly missed him! Orchids were beautiful. Pity they were unlabelled. There is a welcoming cafe and an amazing Dragon Tree.

My boyfriend and I visited the gardens as we'd heard how beautiful the orchids were. And they didn't dissapoint! There are lovely little paths that take you around the gardens and a lovely cafe run by a friendly lady who knows how to brew a proper English cuppa! We stayed for lunch at the cafe, which was all home made... More
