It's a bit overcrowded. The sea is too rough most of the time. So not good for swimming or paddling as you can be swept off your feet very easily.

The beach is fine, there are swim guards (high waves sometimes!), washrooms and showers and a little restaurant. The price for 2 sunchairs and an umbrella was 8,50 EUR in May. That´s ok, I think. Better then getting burned. ;-) Don´t forget shoes for the beach. Black sand = Hot sand!!!

this is the black beach on the way to the Loro Parque and the old townof Punta Brava. It has excellent facilities for a good day at the beach. Sunbed and parasol hire, restaurant and snack bars, toilet and changing facilities with showers, ok there is a small charge for the use but it is well worth it. The sea... More

wonderful watching the sea crashing in, plenty of facilities eateries, toilets etc. Walk off the far end and you are in an old area of tenerife with little alleys that lead to houses right above the sea, Tapas bars and cafes and Loro park

Chain of splendid black sand beaches - best on Tenerife with half mile walk with cafes. The ocean is warm even in February for exhilarating swimming

Sunbeds available for 3 Euros each, black sands, a sea that could be dramatic and exciting one moment and calm an placid the next. A beach side café [we didn't use] is available and there are toilet!! Ideal for us to do some totty watching.

Has black volcanic sand, easier to wash off than some yellow sand. It is set in lovely gardens. Great for body boarding but if you aren't a really good swimmer just paddle or enjoy the beach.

A lovely beach and lots of gardens and flowers and ramped walkways. Lots of places in and around this area to sit and relax. The sand is black volcanic sand so if you go in the water it looks dirty on wet feet and hands. If its a hot sunny day and you walk on the sand in bare feet... More
