The sand was very unusual. It was black and gritty, so it was not only painful on your feet, but the sand was mega hot and seemed to heat up my flip flops too! Entry to the sea was slightly painful on the feet too with the pebbles, but once you get past it and swimming, the sea is lovely... More

This beach has stunning black sand. There are walkways, trees, and landscaping behind the beach. Nice place for a walk or to hang out.

if you can live with the usual cannery island volcanic ash beaches then this will pass muster, just be careful of the tides and waves they are pretty strong on this beach..

This area provides a lovely walk in the shade close to the beach and sea with some lovely views. There is a cafe which offers drinks and food, which then leads to the walkway down to the sea.

The promenade walk/strole above and beside playa Jardin has steps and slopes with pretty flowers. You can watch the people enjoying the black sand either when walking or stopping for a drink/food at the beach side cafes. Although I personally do not like sand in general many people appear to enjoy themselves on the black sand.

This is a tiny black beach that pretty much offers nothing to do. Swimming is too dangerous due to the current and seeing as this beach is in puerto de la cruz it is mostly cloudy.

We went there in May and it was lovely. You could take a walk and have a wonderful view of the coast. You can also go down and enjoy the black sand and the water. It is very clean. We even got surprised by a a cock wandering around in the park.

I go here for a nice swim ..its my next favourite place other than Teresitas in Santa Cruz.. Also I like a bite to eat in a local caff/bar for lunch ..Watch out for the colour of the flag before swimming...if you have children as sometimes it can have bad "under currents "...... So if you don't mind Black volcanic... More
