Take a local bus and walk to explore . It s very hilly so if you have a mobility problem the walking is not for you.

On our recent holiday we visited Tenerife and took a local taxi to explore the island. We stopped at a viewpoint from where we could view the Volcano in the distance and had a beautiful view of the valley below. We enjoyed our shopping at Puerto de la Cruz. So worth a visit!

Beatifull nature and views (Teide and sea). Tip: combine with a visit to puerto de la cruz or with a visit to the national park Teide.

As the more temperate side of the island, the valley is prone to filling up with cloud by lunch time.

Take the bus from Puerto de la Cruz to Aquamansa or even better to La Caldera and you find yourself in a green Paradise with lovely walking paths through the woods, very healthy air and beautiful views on the Teide and the see.

The valley is reputedly very pretty. We descended into it from the Teide National Park. However, there was very low cloud cover and much of the valley was obscured until we were within 15 kilometers of La Orotava, itself.

This is a great place to spend a few hours walking around. Museums and the likes are very good and the gardens are lovely.

A good place to visit with some very nice old architecture to see, It is not far out of Peurto De La Cruz and can be reached by bus. Well worth the visit.

You will at some time see this area if you are in the north for it covers a huge area and most buses go through it or you are in a hotel that looks at it. However as the Canaries are volcanic and Tenerife no longer has water it is dry and unproductive in the main. Scrub and cacti will... More
