This is probably the best known area of Puerto de la Cruz, its a square surrounded by restaurants on three sides with a park in the middle and a kiddies playground, close to the harbour beach and other bars and taxi rank,a must if visiting the area.

Lots of outdoor cafes and restaurants where you can people watch. One side of square has a beautiful enclosed courtyard with trees and balconies and also contains a number of pleasant restaurants.

Perhaps not so pretty in March but a good selection of cafes and restaurants. Probably a street entertainment space in summer.

We arrived in the middle of the carnival and there were street entertainers and locals in fancy dress - lots of men in tights and tutus. many buskers around and places to eat and drink. This is a large town square which provides a cool shady area to sit and observe your surroundings. There are cafes and restaurants to cater for most people. You can get a taxi to drop you off or hire one to take you back to your accommadation from the taxi rank in the square,

We liked the evening atmosphere especially as carnival had just finished and we expected everything to go quiet. The street musicians were really great especially the guy who played on the woks - like steel drums.

Always lots going on, masses of restaurants, benches to sit on children's play area, in festival time big bands perform and huge paella kiosk is erected.

The whole area off from the harbour is old and has strong architecture, like the typical stone canarian houses with balconies. There are also lovely churches, shadey gardens and romantic street lighting. We were there during carnival week and the plaza had a stage and was the centre of much of the week's activities. In the evening when we first... More
