This is a must see. Be warned if you are wary of heights it may not be for you! We had a superb bus driver though. The village is very pretty, and so peaceful.

Wear flat walking boots. Long walk so not for the faint hearted. Need to be fit and agile to walk along the path.

Climbed down there last March, with a tour and a guide, and I recommend it to go with a guide and an organization. There's some risk of loosing the path or slipping and getting hurt, and the place is hardly accessible by helicopters (though, once, a person was rescued this way). It's a tough trip that may require, for climbing... More

Incredibly spectacular mountain scenery in North-West Tenerife. You can get there on tours of course, but better by local bus 355 which you can catch at Buenavista, reached by an hourly bus connection from Puerto de la Cruz, or at Santiago del Teide if coming from Los Gigantes or Costa Adeje. I wouldn't try to drive the mountain road, you'll... More

We started our 3hr walk from Masca Village after a coffee and cake and a leisurely brows around THE most picturesque village you will see in your lifetime if you are lucky. I had HD walking sandals and Julie had a pair of converse trainers on, agreed not the best footwear but trust me we more than managed. Tip, buy... More

Simply stunning views, absolutely gorgeous, in my mind the most beautiful place in Tenerife. Bear in mind the winding roads are terrifying and there's a lot more big coaches making those hairpin turns than you would expect!

You can either go as part of a guided tour, there are many companies in Los Giganes who can arrange your transport to the start of the walk. If you have hired a car or live locally just drive to Masca village and park somewhere. The start of the walk is easy to find and it will take approximately 2... More

My first encounter was on a guided bus tour. We had a short stopover at Masca village but that was already enough for me - the breath-taking view over the valley with the ocean visible in the distance over rocky formations descending on both sides in a V-shape really touched me and I was already sure to come again for... The drive to Masca and out is stunning but 'resist the temptation to bbc stop for pics until you're in sight ofMasca. The valley views are great. Masca itself is lovely almost too well kept and partly a victim of its fame with tourists. The guide books talk about the walk to beach we didn't do the 3hour walk down... More
