Masca gorge is a beautiful hike for those with experience, and by all means go on the hike if you are fit and healthy. However I cannot stress enough the dangers of it for children, elderly and disabled, I am a young teen and I found it very hard. There are many sheer and narrow cliffs, that if you tripped... More

The Masca gorge walk is one of the natural attractions of Tenerife that highlights why it has so much more to offer than the beaches and bars. It is a truly impressive walk, almost like doing the reverse of something like Scafell Pike in England. It's about 8km in length and quite hard tricky in places, so don't take it... More

I loved the challenge of the road and the reward is the spectacular views throughout the whole journey. There is a great little cafe at the mirador (viewpoint) overlooking Masca. A drink there breaks the journey nicely. No dislikes.

Drove in from Santiago de la Teide and did the round trip. Would recommend that one arrives at an early time as car parking is limited and the road in from Santiago is torturous and you will want to meet as little traffic as possible. The road out in the other direction is less demanding. The problem with early morning... More

If you can stand the twists and turns of the road, the scenery is unsurpassed. We visit here every time we go to Tenerife and the views are always breathtaking.

Amazing scenery, but the road is one hell of a drive. The hairpins are insane and the road is narrow. Not for the faint hearted or nervous driver!

If you like nature, the Masca Valley is a must. The road is very narrow but well maintained. We went by coach which enables you to have a good look around. The guide was excellent and told us all about the flora and fauna. If you take time to look, there are some good, reasonably priced little coffee stops along... More

Despite the great views and the reall breathraking Barranco itself the drive is a nightmare. Everyone seems to be heading to Masca and some people are insane drivers, who even ignore when the tear away your side mirror. The drive is spectacular, also thanks to numerous buses making their way through to the village. Parking is nearly impossible, therefore we... More

Masca Valley is an amazing place that I would recommend others to try and visit. I think this is a must visit place in Tenerife. If you are thinking to drive there then be warned. The road to this valley is not for the faint hearted. The roads are narrow and extremely windy. The switchbacks are very sharp and steep.... More

Beautiful area but disagree with the suggestion that it is a reasonably easy walk. Angled, gravelly slopes can be treacherous and surrounding rocks are sharp. If you fall and break something no vehicle will be able to rescue you. We saw someone start down with FLIP FLOPS! We are older experienced walkers but gave up after first fall (100 metres... More
