We rented a car in Costa Adeje with canarias.com which was very nice. We drove all the way up to the Volcano El Teide. We went up to 2200m which was very beautiful and already quite chilli. You can buy tickets via the internet for the cable car to reach approx, 3100m height. There is a fast lane available for... More

We went on a Thomson organised trip to mount Teide at night, watching the sunset from above the clouds whilst supping cava followed by good meal and then star gazing with absolutely no light pollution, it all made for a really magical experience. Our guide was very knowledgable about both the island and the heavens. Definitely a trip worth doing..

Knowing my fear of heights, flying, tall buildings and cable cars dangling in the air, my husband bought the tickets online before informing me! So I was compelled to go and I complained the whole time all the way to the top of El Teide and then I shut up! The view is Spectacular! In fact, it's breathtaking! Wear warm... More

Climbed to the top of El Teide this November with my girlfriend and it was my first time on a volcano. We started from the road and walked up to the Refugio to spent the night there. Then very early in the morning walked to the top to watch the sunrise and it was magical! It was an amazing feeling... More

Whatever the weather stunning views everywhere. We have visited in fog, rain, snow and sunshine. Ensure you wear warm clothes and good sturdy shoes. Put plenty of fuel in your vehicle too as no petrol stations. Remember your camera too.

Faced my worst fears of heights and cable car head on and pleased I did, looking forward to going back again for the starlight experience

Even though we had to queue for over an hour to get onto the cable car that took us up to the top of Teide, it was worth it for the views alone. Great for children to learn about a volcano and to see the landscape around it too.

Our second time to Tenerife and Teide. This is a very popular attraction and common sense should tell you it will be busy and cold in places. No complaints from me as to the queues. What you will eventually get to see is well worth the spend - memories for life.

Particularly at dusk, as the sun sets and the moon rises. Don't be put off by low cloud - you may well be able to drive through it and have spectacular views from the summit

Teide in itself is an amazing sight sihouetted against a clear blue sky and clad in volcanic deposits in many hues and colours but the whole area has numerous hiking trails, well marked and of varying distances and degrees of difficulty. Many of these start from the car park at the Parador where there is a small souvenir shop and... More
