My husband & I drove early one morning to Mount Teide as we had been told how busy it becomes and you may have to queue for some time for the cable car..this cost €25 per person..not cheap but worth every cent...as we were early we didn't have to queue for long and the scenery as the cable car climbed... After spending 70 Euro for the trip and lift ticket, we arrived to find the lift to the top not running. Supposedly, due to high winds, even though it was fairly calm. Looked like they were just taking a day off for maintenance. Not a bad thing though. The tour operator stated, that this was not under their control. Truly,... More

Climbing the highest point in Spain was a good experience. We started from Montana Blanca at 6 and you should expect strong winds during the first hour until reaching the La Rambleta and from there on after entering the slopes it would decreases. after about 2 hours we were at Refugio Altavista and had a short stop. From there it... More

It is a great trip up to Mount Teide (Spain's highest mountain.) You can see the landscape constantly changing as you climb higher and higher up to the National Park, with it's almost moonscape appearance. Eventually you reach the base of Teide at around 6,600 feet. Parking is at a premium for the cable car and you may have to... More

Going up the Teide in the cable car was a good experience I do not want to miss (you can avoid the queuing by booking the teleferico tickets online the day before. They ask you to print it and to choose a certain time slot but since our hotel in Vilaflor had no printer (!) and we arrived after the... More

I visited Teide whilst on holiday in Los Gigantes - we had a hire car so made the trip up to the mountain. It's an amazing spectacle, standing proud over the island and visible from the plane on the way in, above the clouds. the drive there is not the easiest and most relaxing but takes you through some amazing... If you like adventure you will like a visit to El Teide. It is breath taking. It is the largest volcano in Spain and is not dead, only dormant. You can take a cable car which takes you almost to the top of the volcano. Give your self plenty of time if you take the cable car. If the weather... More

No visit to Tenerife should pass without a visit to the highest mountain on Spanish teritory, Mount Teide. It is a dormant volcano, last erupted about 100 years ago, that was a small eruption. the best way to see it is by car. Approach on the TF 82 through Guia de Isora, then after Chio turn right onto the TF... More

There is no doubt that El Teide National park is one of the main attractions in Tenerife which is excellent. The cable car ride to the top of the mountain closer to volcanic crater is also very good but expansive. The ticket for the cable car ride is 25 Euros per person. There are three walking routes (10, 11 &12)... More
