The best way to see this is to drive up to the volcano, scary though cracking road trip depending how you feel about heights.... there are many organised coach tours.. and apparently there is a very limited local bus that will take you there and back.. To reach the lip of the volcano/you have to complete the rest of the... More

We hoped to take the cable car to the top of Mount Teide during our recent visit to the National Park. However, on arriving at the Visitor Centre we realised that we were unlikely to do so due to several factors. Parking is a nightmare. We managed to get a space some way down the roadside as from the queues... More

We visited during the August school holidays and it was very busy. Fortunately, we had hired a car and made our own way there and arrived just after opening time. We managed to park on the access road and only had to queue for a very short time before we boarded the cable car. The views were stunning and both... More

This was my fourth visit to Teide but the first time I have been able to go up to the summit in the cable car (on all previous visits the cable car was not running due to wind or some other problem). We arrived by car fairly early but car parking was a nightmare - there is limited parking and... More

Great trip to Mount Teide - went on a coach trip, thankfully reached the mountain earlier than many other coaches, so queue for the cable car relatively short (especially considering this was August bank holiday week), unfortunately time pressure only allowed us around 10 minutes at the top. But the views from the coach there and back, and at the... More

Teide volcano was a mind blowing! I was amazed, I will never forget this breath taking view from the top. Cable car from lower station will take you there in couple minutes. You can choose a climbing route but it's a long way up to the top and requires some preparation. Remember to take warm clothes, especially in winter months... More

If you go to Teneriffe You HAVE to visit El Teide. You can go there by car of simply with a tour. Amazing views and experience which is not comparable to anything.

we went on a half day excursion and for me and my daughter paid 35 euros aprox, after collecting everyone who was on the excursion, the tour guide then told us we had to pay extra to go up in the cable car, and from the sound of the coach full of ppl no one knew that, it was 26... More

Starting from the small parking (7-8 cars) in Montana Blanca at 2300 meters it is possible to reach the refuge Altavista (3300m, no shower, no potable water) after 5-6 hours of hiking in the middle of volcano debries, Pumice, black rocks and so on. Sleep in the refuge and at 5am, using head lamp reach the top of volcano (approx... More

We booked a half day coach excursion (7:55 - 14.55). Multiple pick-up's so now we know why the half day trip is so long. I can't deny that the scenery is fabulous but the excursions are like a cattle market operation. Ended up at Mount Teide but by the time we had queued for the cable car (admission tickets purchased... More
