first visited Teide during standard excursion, were quite impressed by huge caldera view and color contrast of lava fields. Then thought about full moon next day and decided to go there once more to see a moonrise at Teide' base. Night trip was full of adrenalin because of alien landscape, only rabbits easened that feeling :) Just make sure to... More

If you go to Tenerife then it would be a shame to stay on the beach and not visit El Teide. Incredible landscape. There are plenty of bus tours to take you there. Alternatively, car hire is cheap, so you can visit and take your time enjoying the lanscape. More

Dress warmly! Took us 1h20mins to arrive to the summit with lots of stops on the way to catch my breath, and 25mins to get down. Definitely very strenuous, bring lots of water, dress in layers, not for the unfit. More

Bring WARM clothes (sub zero on top while +25c at bottom of the lift) if you take the lift to the vulcano, also a quite costly ride at EUR25 - you can walk up if you like a steep hike. If you want to see the vulcano rim, you need to get a local permit - and it may seem... More

Escape the crowdy beaches and head it to El Teide. It is worth the trip. The land scape is fantastic, you feel like being on the moon :) More

My wife and I wanted to hike to the top of Teide and it was pretty easy to do, you just have to plan ahead. We made reservations through the park service and they reserved us a 3 hour block of time during which we would be allowed to ascend the last portion of Teide to the top of the... More
