Certainly worth a visit, particularly linked to a trip to Jameos del Agua, about a mile away. A stunning natural cave system created by larva flowing down to the sea. The guided tour (only option) makes more sense if you have previously visited the Jameos del Agua volcanology visitor information centre, and thus understand a little about the processes that... The tour takes about 50 minutes. Try to be near the guide because sometimes the commentary gets lost in the surroundings. You do have to mind your head. The caves are visually very impressive and the lava formations extraordinary. Practise you photography in the dark to get best flash/no flash settings. I was disappointed with my pictures. Excellent value as... More

This was very interesting but you have to go with a guide. The groups are quite large so it's often difficult to hear what they are saying especially as the English is not so good. I think it would have been better to explain it all first with maybe a short film and then just guide you down. Not easily... More

The visit lasts for an hour, but consists of 20' visit and 40' waiting for the group. It is very beautiful although.

Rather lengthy bus journey, due to picking up people from various stops really, but well worth it. Not for the un-agile or perhaps small children, as an adventurous walk underground. I was a little concerned, having slight claustrophobia, that I would not be able to finish the tour, but it was quite manageable with the caves being so big. We... More

This is one of my favourite places on the island. When ever we have visitors we always take them for a trip to these caves. Everyone always raves about them. Not ideal if you have walking problems or very small children, but if you are ok on your feet this is a truly magical place and not to be missed.... More

An excellent place to visit if you are holidaying on the island of Lanzarote. We arrived before it opened for the first tour, which wont set off for around 15-20 mins after opening, until they have enough people. This irked me a bit, waiting for a large group for the tour to start. We then ended up at the end... More

Stepping inside this large volcanic cave makes a huge relief from the heat outside! The guide takes you through a series of tunnels created by exploding lava from the Corona volcano. The galleries are amazing, with an awesome illusion!

A great place to visit. There is live music played some nights. Would love to hear it as I imagine the acoustics to be wonderful. Very interesting and the guide was great, explaining everything about the caves. Worth a visit. If you plan to visit several places ie. James del Agua, Mirrador del Rio, Timanfaya fire mountain, Jardin de cactus... More
