A beautiful town full of colours, beautiful building with lovely balconies. Individual, independent shops offering something for everyone. Even the weather was kind when our cruise ship called here for the day. One of my favourite.

For those visiting the Island of LA Palma that need a shopping fix. Good amount of gift shops, clothes, shoes, restaurants. Port is there. Parking is free within the white parking bays and payable within the blue parking bays.

Anchored by the small cruise port and terminal for cruise ship entry and goods traveling to and from the island. It’s not the most attractive port, but as the cruise ships come in, the tour agencies immediately pick up their customers on big buses and head off to see certain parts of the island. There is a small tourist office... More

La Palma is said to be a lovely island. I have visited the other 6 Canary Islands before (on the same trip) and myst say that La Palma is by far the poorest of them all. Santa Cruz looks just terrible and depravated, buildings are totally run down, all plants around are neglected since years, the upper part of the... More

We walked into Santa Cruz from Los Cancajos, which took about an hour. The walk up the main street (rather incongruously named Calle O'Daly) was interesting and enjoyable, especially since it was pedestrianised. There was a good variety of shops and plenty of places to eat. We walked as far as the Avenida las Nieves and the Maritime Museum, housed... More

The port is currently industrial looking. You can observe it from above, the view-point is located on the top of the stairs almost directly behind the huge bus stop. Move of huge cruise ships can be attractive to connoisseurs. There is a shopping centre under construction, so perhaps there will be some more to do in the port. I strongly... More

A pleasant enough, non-threatening port area. Not a great deal going on, only a small yachting marina if you are interested in small boats Seemed to be a roro ferry every weekday evening which loaded in the morning and took off in the early afternoon Decent size cruise ships putting in every so often... but that seems the limit of...
