If you arrive by the 301 bus as I did......you really do need to be a mountain goat to get to the best bits of the garden . I had a coffee in the lovely restaurant and looked at the wonderful view. Then realised the actual garden is way down ,very uneven rocky steps with no hand rails. Very pleased... More

There are two entrances to the Botanical Gardens though only one if you are relying on the local buses (route 301, 302 or 303) - they drop you about 250 m from the entrance to the top of the gardens which allows you to have a fabulous view over the whole area before you start the winding (and stepped) descent... It's great if you're into gardening. We went on a half day tour run by BRUNO, all the hotels know him. Highly recommended. There's a lot more to it than just the botanic garden, wine tasting for instance.

This botanical garden was quite a sweetie. Parking was free, there was no entrance fee either. It was pleasant to walk around and see all the plants and trees typical in the Canaries. Glad I went but wouldn't go again.

We took bus 301 from the San Telmo station in Las Palmas and it dropped us off at the top of a hillside overlooking the garden. There is a rather nice restaurant there with stunning views over the garden below. We had a delicious roasted salad for lunch. The garden itself is extensive and takes a while to explore. There... Often it can be windy in northern Gran Canaria so here you can escape the worst effects and at the same time enjoy a most interesting creation. Allow about three hours to see it all and take in the botanical highlights of these islands.

Do not visit if disabled have breathing or heart problems or you don't like heights or Danger, this place is so dangerous it is unbelievable if you start at the top the views are fantastic but as soon as you start your descent the alarm bells ring the paths and steps are made of stones and are uneven the drop... I wouldn't say that this place has anything in particular special about it, or that makes it stand out as a must see, however, had a very pleasant hour or so wandering around, enjoying the peace and quiet, the scenery and the plants. Maybe if I had more interest in plants this would have been even better, I don't know....... More

It was a nice enough afternoon. Bring a pic-nic, no cafes. Much of the park was closed of when we visited. Not many people
