We enjoyed the walk around the Jardin Canario. It is a 20 minute bus ride out of town - no 303 from central bus station (1.40euros each way, every 30 mins), and is high up in the hills. You need to call in at the restaurant first for a drink which is at the top of the ravine - there... More

Hard to find even with a SAT Nav but well worth it Signposting is almost nonexistent. Amazingly it is free entrance. Takes about two hours to walk through the park which has various areas from trees to Cacti and other plants. Immaculately maintained and the plants are stunning.

Access needs to be sorted. Bus from las palmas stops at top. Large car park there. No bus at bottom and little road parking. Had to climb back up for bus which hadn't bargained on. Paths very steep and uneven , not for the faint hearted. give the toilets a miss. The bar at the bottom good.

Yes, the cobbles in the upper part are uneven; yes, the ravine is steep (it's a ravine!) but no one is trying to say otherwise. The lower part is flat and accessible, the upper part would be no good if you are on wheels but is fine as long as you don't have vertigo. It was pretty and interesting, and... More

Really nice place. It has different zones of plants, going down the hillside and some of the specimens are pretty amazing. The only issue is there is very little detailed info on the plants, so you don't learn that much, but considering its free its amazingly well cared for.

As far as I can see it is nowhere near the location marked on the map but never mind, people still manage to find it! Exceptionally good selection of plants arranged by type. The cactus garden is quite wonderful and has rather changed my mind about cacti in general. There is also a fine display of palm trees and a... More

We aren't and spent a very pleasant couple of hours wandering around looking at the different varieties of plants. Less mobile visitors would struggle with the many steps and slopes but paths, although uneven, are reasonably wide (see photos). For others without a hire car it may be helpful to know that from San Telmo bus station, any of the... More

What a wonderful garden! In February there were few flowers to be seen, but there is an amazing range of native Canarian trees and plants. We used one of the several buses from Las Palmas that pass the top entrance to the garden (first stop after the university). The return bus stop is accessed via a not very obvious gap... More

If i would believe people here i would never go there and had so much fun. Bus 311 is going till the upper side of the garden. Then, if you clever enough to choose right way-it will be not difficult at all and wonderfull for a kid! My kid is 5 years old and he was safe and happy there!... More

This place is off the beaten track but can be accessed via public transport. It is a wonderful free to enter garden which is very well maintained, and delight to spent a day wondering around.
