if you're expecting a nice park with lawns and bushes, forget it. they mean "park" as a structured area with pavement walks and some flowerbeds. all in all is nice, but common

The park seems to be divided in two areas. One close to the city and one closer to the harbour. In the middle is Museo Elder and a playground for children. There are many cafes and restaurants and some places have live music in the evening. It seemed clean and nice and a place to sit and watch other people... More

Disliked? Not a single thing. If you can't find an eating or drinking place here that you like then you won't find one anywhere.

Our visit corresponded with the Carnaval in Las Palmas. We found that being in the Park was the ideal place to see the Parade. All the activity was at its height near the park although the Parade route was quite lengthy. It was hard to get Information on where to stand for the Parade and found it by chance. They... More

February is a must-visit if you want to see an enormous Carnival procession which last for hours. Fancy dress is the order of the day and the whole world is dressed up. I have never seen so many men in frocks - some serious about the dress and some less so. There is a huge stage show with a cast... More

Time your visit if possible and go during Carnaval! It's an excellent event to really feel the Spanish passion with young Canarios in hilarious costumes everywhere. Cheap booze and street food overflow from trucks within the park. It's a great place and time to interact with the friendly locals.
