Normally, if someone offered you a tour of a quarry, you'd probably be right to give it a miss. Not here though. The locals have turned this impressively deep old limestone quarry into a "bio-zone", ecological nature reserve with something new and interesting to see at every turn (and there are lots of twists & turns!) Lizards, the odd basking... More

this was a great place, me and children loved it, was a scorching hot day but we still managed to see the whole place, bring your own refreshments though. amazing jewellry in the shop, small fee for entry, worth the look, i also felt strong sence on freemasonary with all the symbols and mystic feel. check out my video of... We enjoyed the trip round Lithic but it could do with a bit more investment. Appears to be work in progress in certain areas. The scale / size of the quarry is impressive.

A disused sandstone quarry doesn't sound like a tourist attraction but for only 4 Euros it's worth a visit if you're in Ciutadella. 6 Euros in a taxi or half hour walk. We got the taxi there and walked back. You can't get lost, it's one straight, quiet road which heads straight for the cathedral in the distance. You can... More

I had read the previous reviews and decided it was worth a visit. As previously stated the signs are not in English but you are given a handout at the start and can more or less work everything out. The gardens were a little disappointing, all rather wild (I had imagined something a little more formal) but interesting nevertheless. The... More

We decided to visit Lithica as part of our second trip to Menorca, and we went with our three-year-old daughter. The main problem was finding it! Unlike most other attractions on Menorca, there were no signposts, and as all we had as an address was Cami Vell, outside Ciutadella we ended up having to ask directions. We had an excellent... The manager of our hotel told us about this place when we were looking for somewhere to visit other than another bay or church. To say that we were surprised is perhaps a bit of an understatement. This disused stone quarry is well hidden, tucked away down a side road near Ciutadella. Cut deep into the ground, with a series... More

What a fascinating and interesting place. Absolutely worth 4€ It's amazing what they have done with a disused location such as this! There was a sight round every corner and the photo oppertunities indicated by a blue eye have been carefully thought out! The secret/medieval garden was so well hidden if you follow the blue trail and start to skip... More

Lithica is an artistic development of a quarry, just off the ME1 as it meets the Ciutadella ring road. There are statues, sculptures and gardens to wander round. It takes about an hour to walk round the short route with marked viewpoints, starting with the most recently quarried area, moving on to hand quarried area, then shallower pits with gardens.... For 4 or 5 euros this was a couple of hours well spent walking the trail which is set out and moving from the gardens into the recently finished quarries. These are huge and make you feel pretty insignificant in the greater scheme of things. The lady who was on the door when we went was very good at explaining... More
