Fabulous place. Lovely for an evening stroll and seeing all the boats was great. Great little shops to investigate.

Port Mahon was a delightful surprise on our cruise on the MSC Sinfonia last November . We were coming from Palma di Mallorca where we really enjoyed ourselves and we expected Port Mahon to be more or less a repeat , on a smaller scale , of what we had seen . We were pleasantly surprised to find it to... More

You must take a trip around the port, which takes around one hour. While you waiting visit the gin distillery and there is a shop that sell cigs and vine etc.

Mahon Port is a lovely area with the chance to look at 'millionaires row' of cruisers and yachts whist seated in an open air bar sipping coffee or wine; at times there are also cruise ships in and the ferry from Tenerife. On two days of the week there is a market where you can buy some lovely jewellery, handbags,... More

We had a great time strolling around Mahon and down to the harbour. We enjoyed a mid morning drink at Calucha Delicatessan where we enjoyed looking round at all their goods then watching the world go by. There are some spectacular boats in the harbour to ogle at too. Lunch was at Can Vermut which was also great (see separate... More

Journey took 30 minutes on local bus to Mahon. From bus station went to market - lots of leather goods, clothes, scarves, metalwork. Stallholders did not seem to like us haggling, especially when 8 + 18 makes 27! (we found some items were cheaper at the local souvenir shop near our hotel). Walked through picturesque streets, lots of shops, nice... More

Mahon is lovely. The port area is very pretty. There are a few stalls by the harbour/port side and a few cafes and boutiques. It's quite a climb up and down the ornate staircase if you're not particularly fit but very enjoyable all the same. I'm used to much more commercial shopping areas with huge glass, concrete and steel malls... More

Loved the boat trip round the harbour. Lots of steps to go down to get to the harbour but well worth it
