The same as many other Placa Majors - taken over by bad, over priced cafes and street entertainers. There is even a Burger King about to open.

Lovely architecture and a lovely feel. However, it's very touristy so I would recommend a walk through, but find another plaza where the prices are a lot better, as is the service, if you want some food.
Plaza Coll is much nicer and feels traditional - and a lot cheaper!

The restaurants on the square are tourist traps but the tacky acts on the square are ok. Your best bet is heading toward the less touristy areas between placa coll which is the square nearby and placa sa gerreria. The shops there are creative and orginal or just unsual traditional institutions hidden from toursits.

As per many of the Beaches in this part of Mallorca there are steps to the beach. Note this if you have difficulty walking. Lovely beach but the high street does not offer much in the way of qaulity food or trendy bars.

There are restaurants and places for a drink to sit and enjoy the surrounding buildings and activity. Often time there is entertainment also in one or the other corners of the plaza.

Interesting courtyard. Would have been nicer if 4 different restaurant touts had not set upon us as we entered. My advice if to keep walking and stop for a coffee a little further on, we found a great little bagel shop about 20 meters towards the cathedral on the left side.

a beautiful square with some markets on the weekends. pity it's now being stalked by looky-looky men selling fake louis vuitton bags and noisy animals. the shops around it are average, i see a sign for a burger king that's coming soon. pity!!! the shops downstairs are still struggling on, there are a few worth going to, but in general,...
