The train is great. Look at the schedule. I'm not sure if the panaoramic is worth a wait since the only difference is a 5 minute stop overlooking Soller. Soller is charming, if you have time, and the tram, OK it is expensive, to the beach is nice and wonderfully slow. To return to Palma DO NOT TAKE THE EXPRESS... more

After reading the review on TripAdvisor we took the train from Palma to Soller as soon as we arrived in Mallorca (we were staying in Palma). Even though it was raining, the trip was an absolutely fascinating and beautiful experience - the scenery is just so very pretty. more

My parents and i loved the train ride from soller to palma on a day trip we took. So what if it is a tourist trap? The train is a little wooden 1912 train and the views are amazing. more

I flew in from England for a one night trip, and day in Mallorca. The reason was for another trip to Soller on the train. Great views the whole journey. I have done the trip several times, twice in 2009, and worth every cent of it. Imagine the work to get through the tunnels in the earley 1900's, and the... more

After spending three nights in Palma this was a great way to get to our hotel in Soller so we only went one way. It was busy and there is very little room for luggage so ensure you are there nice and early. It is a lovely, traditional way to see some of the beautiful island as well as traveling... more

Whilst I agree with the description and it is a nice break inland away from the beaches it is essentially an exercise in crowd control, a money maker tourist trap - ship people in , take money, ship people out. 16 Euro per person (return ticket) gets you to Soller, where all the little attractions have an entrance fee AND... more

A old train that runs from Palma to Soller. From Soller down to the Port Soller you transfer to a tram. There are different schedules posted on their website - they are for the train & the tram - 2 distinct rides! Soller is a cute town, that has retained a lot of it's ancient charm. The Port is even... more

Lovely train ride. It rained all day when we went, but still enjoyed it. After an hour you arrive in Soller (by the way, it's pronounced 'soljerr' with a softish 'j'). Go down the steps of the station in Soller and that's where you get the tram to the port. Have a little look around the port, then go to... more

I would like to recommend this trip to all. I just did it last Saturday August 9th 2008. We spent the afternoon on this small beach in Puerto de Soller and took the train back to Palma at 06:30 pm. more

We did this trip on July 10th 2008 and I can reccommend it to experience a different bit of Mallorca. We caught the train up there which is just as described in other reviews. The square in Soller is full of restaurants all serving tapas on their menus which was great as I'd been looking forward to some all trip.... more
