The food is cheap and good. You can't ask for more. I didn't try the "whole meal" restaurants though, only pintxos.

nice to see how the basque spend their time seriously enjoying food and taking time for it. All ages mingle in the bars.

On average a glass of wine was a euro a glass - amazing! Tasty food with plenty of choice. Buy bars even in the week.

This is the epythome of one of the most important tenets of Basque's culture: food. Pintxos are one or two-bites sized appetizzers which show the variety of tastes, kinds of foods and creative which rightfully belongs to the Basque region. You can have one or toow in each bar, with a "chato" (one third of a glass of wine) in... More

We visited many "old towns" on our trip and they soon all started looking the same. But these areas are where the history is and many good dining spots. I wouldn't pass up an opportunity to visit another one.

La Concha beach is one of the most beautiful beaches anywhere and strolling down this prominade is a real treat. You have older couples holding hands, bicycle riders zipping past, roller bladers, all walks of life just enjoying the scenery towards the ocean or the city. Wonderful afternoon to let yourself feel alive.

This is the heart and soul of San Sebastian. Everyone is friendly and lack of Spanish language skills did not slow us down. Bar owners are patient as you point and order your glass of wine. We slept great - tho business do open early and carts roll down the old streets. This is all part of the charm!

We visited Parte Vieja during our stay in Donostia and were surprised to see that even though it was very crowded, it was lively and jolly. We didn't feel annoyed with the mass of people strolling along during the day and we were enjoying the party atmosphere after dark. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. All of them... This part of town never sleeps. And neither do I. I got my accommodation here and it's impressively lively every day of the week. I like it. Good thing there aren't any chain shop, everything is local and unique. One minutes to the beach. Love it
