Mount Igueldo is within easy reach by funicular. Amazing view of the city and its beaches. Walking down was lovely, too.

This small mountain stands guard to the entrance of the bay at San Sebastian. There is a wonderful hotel at the top with the most amazing views over the city and the bay. There is also a tower that can be climbed with even more spectacular views. The mountain itself has a number of other good hotels scattered around along... More

Walking from the center of the city its just a 25-30 minutes along the Playa de La Concha before you reach the cable train (Funicular) which takes you up to the hill to a breathtaking view for just € 3. But you can also walk if you like. On top of Monte Igeldo is a hotel Mercure as well as... More

This is fun way to get to a breathtaking view of the city, the beaches, and beyond. On a clear day you will see for miles and miles in all directions. Once you ride to the top you'll have the option of staying for as long as you want to take tons of photos and to take it all in.... More

On a whim and because we were in the area we caught the funicular up at around 6pm. Was a bit nervous due to past reviews. We were lucky as it was off peak so quiet. Good views from the funicular and up at top. The funicular isn't too expensive and the guy who ran it was very friendly and... More

The funicular is a great quirky way of visiting Monte Igueldo Went with my family on a glorious sunny afternoon in April. The view of San Sebastián is absolutely fantastic and I couldn't resist enjoying it with a glass of Rioja in my hand. There's a small dated theme park as you get off of the funicular I'd give the... This is the place from which all postcard pictures are taken. The view from up here is gorgeous. San Sebastián is quite possibly the best looking city I've seen: the bay, with its iconic rock in the center, the Pyrenees rising at the horizon. You can walk up the mountain or take a furnicular for a few euros. Aside from... More

Get the fenicular railway or walk to the top for the most amazing views of San Sebastián. It gives the best views of the city and its beaches.

If you come to Donostia, only for a view days, even then you should go onto Monte Igueldo, to have a view on the town and its beaches. Just take a few minutes, maybe half an hour to enjoy there - and don't forget your camera. (Or do your iPhone selfies...) on a nice day, it is really worth it.
