I was expecting the fairground to be terrible after I read the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. All the rides etc had recently been painted and it was very clean. It was closed when we visited as the summer season hadn't started yet. It has old rides and games but I like this and think it adds to the... More

Decided to walk up to the top, rather than take the funicular railway, on the public road. Steep but enjoyable walk with a number of good viewing points / photo ops along the way. Got to the top to discover we needed to pay €2 each to get into the amusement park (aka the 'summit') even though it was closed.... More

If I had to recommend one thing to do in San Sebastian, it would definitely be a trip to Monte Igueldo. There are loads of buses going out there and when you arrive, you pay a few euros to go up to the mountain in a delightful 'funicular' old-school carriage that brings you to the top of the mountain. There's... More

It was easy to walk along the water from the center of town, and then take the funicular to the top for some outstanding views of San Sebastian. Highly recommended. It was May, with cool breezes at the top, so dress accordingly.

What a beautiful view of the city!! We took the funicular to the top and back to the bottom for 3 euros and it was totally worth it. A very fun walk around La Concha beach and then we went up to the summit. A great way to spend a few hours in San Sebastian.

Westayed up here in hotel Leku Eder which is only300m from the top. The view is great over the beaches and the city as well as mount Urgull and the island.

Certainly the view is spectacular though it is marred with restrictions on photography at the summit. Personally, I found the experience somewhat disconsolate. There is a feeling of decayed neglect at the summit with the fairground amusement forlornly empty serving to detract from the view. Seems as if people didn't linger long at the summit of Mount Igueldo which speaks... More

Take the funicular (3E) from the bottom of the hill unless you enjoy a steep climb. (You can also drive up from Ondaretta). The views across San Sebastian are spectacular. There are attractions and rides for children at the top open in season, and also a pleasant cafe.

Loved seeing the attractions but sadly they only open at weekends despite the fact there were crowds of people looking at closed rides. However the view of San Sebastian alone makes up for the trip.

If you take the funicular up, around 3euros, it's easy to get to. The views from up top are great, but the rest of the top is very tacky with the amusement rides they built. Just ignore those and go for the view.
