I had a lovely walk down but my walk up was a bit disturbed by the fact a man identified me at the bottom, started following me up, accosted me and wouldn't stop following me till I asked someone for help. So i wouldn't reeccomend that young women walk up alone. After that I had a lovely walk once I... More

This was a wonderful walk/hike that starts right in the city and climbs up the mountain (large hill really) to the Christ statue at the top. There are many different paths you can take to get to the top...with some being more difficult than others. With me not being in the best physical condition, we opted for the paved switchback... Absolutely beautiful hike to the castle at the top. Wonderful museum inside the castle and fantastic views of San Sebastian. It is a fun way to get good exercise and see wonderful beauty.

Although we love visiting the old churches and other historic landmarks of Spain we really appreciated San Sebastian's natural beauty and topography and what better way to take it all in then a walk up Monte Urgull with it's incredible views back down to the city and beach below as well as out to sea. Most folks can easily stroll... More

Wonderful hike up to the top, the view is a little blocked by trees and isn't as nice as the other side, but still worth the effort.

We spent a lovely couple of hours walking up and around the statue. The views were incredible from the top so we now have some beautiful photos to remind us of our trip to San Sebastián. There are various levels which have been left to grass and have little benches to sit back, relax and enjoy - would have been... More

Walk to St Vincent’s Church in the Old Town and up to Monte Urgull Mendia (this is easier than walking from the harbour side). Walk up to the top of the SS statue. Lovely views. Free to enter the museum and up to the top of the SS statue. Walk down towards the harbour/aquarium side, ending at the sculpture Oteiza.... More

Well worth the walk up for the view in all directions? Not too hard a climb. You can go right up to the statue of Jesus.

Enjoyable walk around the park -- didn't go in to the castell museum as it doesn't open until 10 am. Beautiful scenic views, informational signage about the areas history. One caution: there are a handful of transients who live around here, so you might encounter them in the morning.
