Go early in the morning...to avoid the heat! What an amazing view....take the path way up and then take the stairs down....it is a little bit longer on the path but it is a nicer walk.

The walk up was more than I expected but the views and scenery were rewarding for my effort. There are a number of ruins to see and in great shape too. Make sure to view the movie in the shop at the top as it covers the history of San Sébastien very well. There are multiple boards throughout that really... More

When going to San Sebastian you should surely take the time to climb up the mountain to the top (at the Christ Statue). You can choose between the short/hard way of stairs or take your time and follow the path to the top, with a lot of nice views on the way. I would recommend to take this chill road... More

This is very close to Old Town so a bit of a must see when you visit San Sebastian. The walk/hike up to the top is a bit of a challenge in the heat so would recommend doing this earlier in the day before the sun gets too hot (takes around 20 mins or so to walk to the top).... More

The hike up was a bit of a climb if you took the quick way stairs! The other options was a nice path that was a easier we took that back down. Very green and lush and what a beautiful view from the top!

Not only is the seawall promenade around the base of Monte Urgull one of the must-do (maybe even everyday) of SS-Donostia, but exploring the hikes that loop up and around the old fortifications of the mountain/hill could occupy half of a week. Stunning 360 views, picnic spots, hidden caves, wildflowers and ancient walls. A summertime tavern in an old stone... More

Our whether has been a bit of a bust for San Sebastian, but we are making the best of it. Misty and some raindrops while climbing up the mountain, but there was still a great view. I loved seeing the seagulls flying BELOW us, the color of the water, the many different vantage points to see the city and beaches... More

We didn´t realize how long of a hike this was. Grab a map ahead of time and study the route. There are no signs once you get going. You can follow a dozen different paved roads to the top (the longer way) or a do a shorter (yet steeper) route through the trees on a rocky path. You will end... More

There is a small museum about San Sebastián and the statue of Christ at the top. Museum and audio tour are free. Beautiful views of the bays.

A steep hill right next to the Parte Viejo gave us beautiful views to La Concha beach and City of Donostia. The summit can be reached via several serpentine paths and stairs, we started from harbor and descended to the Kursaal side to see all sides of the hill. The big statue of Christ on the top is actually standing... More
