We had one morning in San Sebastian that the weather wasn't ideal so we decided to go to the aquarium. They did a great job of presenting some of the history of the city without getting boring and have a ton of fish that you can see. There were a lot of families there but I would say it's great... Very well laid out with maritime history areas. There is a walkway through the largest aquarium tank with fish and sharks swimming all around the tunnel of glass. Well done!

Great visit for kids. Although have to walk through all the boats, whaling stuff first....before you get to the actual aquarium. For adults, they would find this section more interesting. Has everything you need of an aquarium and decent gift shop too. Can get a taxi to drop you right at the front entrance.

it aint the biggest aquarium in the world, but it sure is the coolest. great location on the side of a cliff basically, great architecture. great place. the museum part that is linked is really interesting as well. its never seemed crowded because of the way it is designed.

The aquarium is a modern one and well stocked. it is located near the harbor which is also worth a visit. Kids will love but adults will not get bored either (well I didn;t)

Although the beginning of the Aquarium feels more like a Maritime Museum it was interesting to learn about the history of this lovely city. The best part of the Aquarium is undoubtably the circular walk through tank! My kids are 17 and 19 and it was hard to get them out of there! My 19 is a biology major at... More

Kids love to see fish and sea creatures up close. The walk-thru tank is really neat, because you feel surrounded by water and coral and fish. Great stuff!!

Very nice aquarium with just enough to see. A small pool where the kids can put their hands in the water and see if the octopus reaches out...? A bit of seafaring history with models of boats was a nice bonus for us adults.

The first half of the aquarium features models of boats and exhibits about fishing. There are two large whale skeletons that give a first person view of what Jonah must have seen. Downstairs are the "live" tanks including luminescent jelly fish, sharks and rays. In one portion you walk "through" the tank via a Plexiglas tunnel. By the way, as... More

Looks small from the outside but larger inside ( like Dr Who's Tardis ). Not a bad admission fee either. We have been to similar Aquariums in Monaco , Cannes and Portugal but this was voted the best by my teenage children. For once they forgot their hunger and wanted to stay longer !
