Owner description: Pintxos, Rioja wine, seafood, cider, Idiazabal cheese....the tiny Basque region of Spain has more than its share of delicious treasures. Here at San Sebastian Food, our obsession is sharing the culinary secrets of this beautiful landscape with our clients. Our tours and experiences are authentic glimpses into the often secret world of Basque food, wine and culture. San Sebastian Food is the Basque Country's original guide company focused entirely on the region's culinary attractions. We are a family of a dozen food and wine professionals, comprised of locals, experts and passionate foodies with an expansive knowledge base. We lead culinary tours throughout the Basque Country in northern Spain and southern France. From cooking classes and jamon carvings, to visiting wineries and local markets, to simply hitting the old town for a fun night of pintxo bar hopping, our experiences are the epitome of easy luxury, tailored to your desires. San Sebastian is the culinary capital of the world, with more Michelin stars per capita than anywhere else on the planet, a farmer's market six days a week and hundreds of bustling pintxo bars. Locals plan their day around where to eat and what to drink, and we aim to give you a taste of authentic San Sebastian, with an added dose of expertise.

Fantastic introduction to San Sebastian's culinary delights! Assisted by the beautiful Ellie who provided so much information about the culture of the basque people. Really enjoyed it and would recommend to everyone!

A great introduction to Pintxos eating in San Sebastián is the Pintxos Hunting Tour. Our guide Vicki led us through the old town and as well as recommending the specialities of the different bars we visited she included an informal history of the town and the history and culture of Pintxos. As a newcomer to Pintxos the ordering can be... More

Lourdes our guide made us feel comfortable & special as we walked the streets of San Sebastian's old town. Giving us interesting snippets of local history and culture, adding humour and flair to the journey. We visited many little pintxo bars where Lourdes guided us with a drink to suite the pintxo. Each place specialized in an offering of either... More

Really enjoyed understanding about Basque food culture and more home-style cooking. Our hosts made us feel exceptionally welcome and even treated us to gooseneck barnacles, a Spanish delicacy, which were a delight!

Great food tour and cooking class, we did both. Tour guide was just a delight, with infectious enthusiasm for food and history of local town. Pintxo bars selected just all round great fun with terrific food. Cooking class is simple, easy eating food. More than enough food with lots of wine on hand. Worth another visit, great town.

On our trip to Europe we arranged our journey from Paris to Barcelona through the Basque regions of Spain and France and stayed in San Sebastian for two nights. We stayed in San Sebastian primarily for the food and in particular to tour the Cities Pintxos bars. So we spent two glorious evenings simply walking the streets and sampling the... More

My partner and I have been on a tapas tour in Barcelona which was great, but this pintxos hunting tour with Eli was a step up again. We went to six of the best pintxos restaurants, all in the old town, and it felt like we were going with a friend who knew everything about the place. Eli was very... More

Eli! Thank you so much for the best food experience I have had (and I have had many!). Your tour was fun, informative, and one that none of us will ever forget. From the pace and order at which we enjoyed the delicious wines and pintxos to the information and the great people of San Sebastián that you shared with... More

We had a fantastic food tour with Eli. We were lucky since it was only my wife and I taking the tour. We visited the market and Eli explained all the local delicacies available, again we were lucky because during the holidays people splurge with big dinners and they seek all the best products. The highlight of the tour though... More

My wife and I went on a Pintxos tour on the Sunday night after Christmas and I was worried much of San Sebastián would be closed but I needn't have worried. Our dynamic young guide Eli showed us such a great night out, I don't think I've ever enjoyed a food tour so much as this one. Value? I assure... More
