Description: Pintxos, Rioja wine, seafood, cider, Idiazabal cheese....the tiny Basque...
Pintxos, Rioja wine, seafood, cider, Idiazabal cheese....the tiny Basque region of Spain has more than its share of delicious treasures. Here at San Sebastian Food, our obsession is sharing the culinary secrets of this beautiful landscape with our clients. Our tours and experiences are authentic glimpses into the often secret world of Basque food, wine and culture. San Sebastian Food is the Basque Country's original guide company focused entirely on the region's culinary attractions. We are a family of a dozen food and wine professionals, comprised of locals, experts and passionate foodies with an expansive knowledge base. We lead culinary tours throughout the Basque Country in northern Spain and southern France. From cooking classes and jamon carvings, to visiting wineries and local markets, to simply hitting the old town for a fun night of pintxo bar hopping, our experiences are the epitome of easy luxury, tailored to your desires. San Sebastian is the culinary capital of the world, with more Michelin stars per capita than anywhere else on the planet, a farmer's market six days a week and hundreds of bustling pintxo bars. Locals plan their day around where to eat and what to drink, and we aim to give you a taste of authentic San Sebastian, with an added dose of expertise.

Best way to experience the food and culture of pintxo's. Having just spent two months in Sevilla and having some bad Tapas experiences we didn't want to risk it in what is supposed to be the culinary capital in San Sebastián. We signed up for a Pintxo Hunting Tour with San Sebastián Food and had a wonderful guide Eli. After... More

We had an amazing experience at the Masterclass with August and Christina two days ago. They ran a class for just the two of us, gave us an extensive tour of the local food and meat markets there and we could taste the different cured hams and cheeses. The class was fun, and after cooking we all sat down to... More

Our guide in the pintxo hunting event, Eli, was a luminous character that made this night worth recommending to everyone. She was upbeat and full of charm; also very informed and proud of the Basque culinary scene. The food was great and the wine equally so. Do NOT skip the cheesecakes under any circumstance..

I originally came here on a recommendation of another traveler only to find out that there are some of the best restaurants here. This tour takes you to all of these places.

I had done a lot of researching wanting to get the best out of San Sebastian in the two nights we would be there. I had read an article about San Sebastian Food and their Pintxo hunting food tour and although it seemed on the pricier end I hoped it would be worth it. When we arrived soaking from the... More

We toured a selection of 6 Pintxo restaurants and samples the finest pintxo's. It was like a tasting menu with matched wines and a history tour in one evening. Certainly one of the best activities we've undertaken on holiday and a must do for anyone coming to San Sebastián.

My husband and I had a wonderful time on our adventures with San Sebastián Food. We did the Pintxo hunting tour, which was definitely worth doing. With so many pintxo bars in San Sebastián, it was great to have a local guide showing us which pintxo bars to go to and what to order at each one. We ended up... More
