We had the pleasure of spending 3 - 4 hours with Daniel from Bilbao Greeters on a late afternoon walking tour of Old Bilbao. Daniel spoke excellent English & was a wonderful host. Arrival in Bilbao was the previous afternoon, so had already done a little exploring. Buildings & places we had previously walked past & admired were brought to... More

Had a fabulous walking tour around parts of Bilbao i didn't see on my first visit. Also, learned alot about the history of Bilbao and of the Basque culture. It was very interesting and worthwhile. I would recommend Bilbao Greeters to anyone interested in seeing Bilbao from a local's perspective.

Wonderful town. On first day took a walking tour with Maravi. She gave us many details and was very well versed in the history of the town . We learned a lot about the Basque people and culture. As an American, I had only heard from our newspapers of Basque separatists and terrorism. Very different story when you see and... More

We have travelled extensively and our Bilbao tour with greeter, Marivi, will stand as one of our favorite experiences. Marivi provided us with a historical and cultural overview of Bilbao and the Basque region. Walking the city, we visited many sites, among others, the outstanding Phillipe Stark Leisure Center, the old town, the Plaza Nueva and the Central Market. We... More

Our Bilbao Greeter, Marivi, brought the city to life for my husband and me. She personalized our experience as she shared stories of her life there, She shared how the city had changed since the Guggenheim Museum was opened. We learned about the city's history, Basque culture and of course food. We visited a market, walked through the old town... More

We met with our guide, Esti, outside the Arriaga Theatre and so be again our wonderful evening in Bilbao. We walked all through the Old Town with Esti pointing out all the places of interest. Thanks to tripadvisor I learned about this opportunity to meet and tour with a local. My guide, Esti, arranged to meet me at the Guggenheim Puppy and after a brief discussion of my interests we walked to the new and interesting Alhóndiga Cultural Center designed by Philippe Starck, then hopped on the subway for a beach walk on the outskirts... Our walk with Roberto was a highlight of our month long trip. He was warm, friendly, interesting & very knowledgeable. We had a great walk besides the river to the Old Town and back seeing many of the architectural features of Bilbao, the unique bridges, and so much more. We stopped for a drink and had a chance to meet... More
