Four of us got off our ship and met Marivi at the "Puppy Floral Sculpture" at the Guggenheim. We moved to a café across the square to wait for the rain to stop and go talk about the city and the tour we would take. We paid for Marivi's coffee but that is all she would allow us to pay... More

Iniigo took us on a 3 hour walking tour of Bilbao, many interesting history, places made famous by 007, Old Town including the local's favourite pastry shop. He was very open about his love of the city and the local's way of life. Nice to know a custom where couples wait until 3pm to have lunch together everyday.

Marivi was our Greeter and met with us at the "Puppy Floral Sculpture" at the Guggenheim. Although the Guggenheim may have put Bilbao on tourists' radar, we found the entire city to be a jewel. We had the opportunity to hear the history of the city's renewal, take the funicular to see a panoramic view of the city as a... More

The "greeters" is such a great concept! It was handled with perfection by our guide Miren and, of course, the support staff who lined it up. On our first evening in town it was great to meet up with Miren for a long walk and a chat. She told us a lot about the city but she also listened to... More

Our visit to Bilbao was both special and memorable thanks to Miren of Bilbao Greeters. In conversing from one traveler to another we welcomed Miren's insights of the city and surroundings. Open, warm and friendly, this was perhaps the most relaxed and informative city tour we experienced over the course of our three month excursion across the Iberian Peninsula. Being... More

I visited Bilbao with two friends and a colleague of mine recommended the Bilbao greeters. Dani was our greeter, he was very friendly and he knows a lot about the city's history. It was very interesting for us to see the city through his eyes. Thanks again Dani!

We have just had 2 nights in Bilbao, and had the pleasure of having a guide through Bilbao Greeters. The Greeters allow you to book on-line and match you with a Guide who is knowledgeable about your interests (for example, history, food, the economy - past and current - architecture etc etc). The Guide meets you at your hotel, and... More

We recently had the pleasure of using the complimentary greeter service in San Sebastián and Bilbao. Both were wonderful! This review is for Roberto in Bilbao. Roberto met my husband and I at the hotel and took us on a lovely 2 hour stroll through Bilbao. He is a local professional, a world traveler, and very passionate about sharing his... More

We met Esti at the end of our visit because we had not requested the tour with enough advance notice (2 weeks), though Bilbao Greeters was able to connect us with one of their volunteers. Since we had already finished most of our getting to know Bilbao, we spent alot of time asking Esti a zillion questions about local culture.... More

Bilbao was one of the stops on our transatlantic cruise in May. Met Jokin at the Guggenheim at 10 and spent the next few hours enjoying his company and learning about Bilbao. Wonderful experience visiting the market int he old town with him. He explained some of the foods that were not familiar to us. We felt pretty good that... More
