This is a great way to get a general overview of the city from an excellent view-point. The funicular runs quite frequently and you can pay in the same way as you do when using the tram/ bus/ metro system (i.e. Barik cards, etc, as well as cash).

If you are looking for an inexpensive activity while exploring Bilbao then a ride up the funicular is just what you are looking for. For less than one euro you can travel up Mount Artxanda for some great views over the city. The funicular station is located in Plaza del Funicular in the district of Arangoiti, a 10 minute walk... This is in the centre of Bilbao and carries you from the city centre up to the top of Mount Artxanda. The views of the city from the top are amazing and it only costs a euro to use it. Also at the top is a variety of cafes and restaurants and there is also a park. A must do... More

This is a fun way to get some spectacular views of Bilbao ! Take a taxi up to the entrance to descend or it's just a short walk to the exit to ascend - either way the views are amazing and offer a birds eye view of this beautiful city 👏🏻

Best views of the city, less than a Euro to get to the top and some nice bars to sit and admire the view. Avoid Saturdays in summer as it does attract weddings and other family gatherings.

This funicular is located across the Zubizuri bridge from the city, two blocks inland from the river. The modest fare of 0.95 euro gives a 4 minute ride steeply uphill to the top of Mount Artxanda. From here outstanding views of Bilbao and the surrounding area are obtained. There is a pleasant park at the top, where you can enjoy... More

Only 95c each way to use the funicular, cheaper than San Sebastian, the views are great over the whole of central Bilbao,,, yuo can see all the key sights. There is also a memorial to the Basque soldiers who fought Franco which looks like a giant finger print, which gives pause for thought.

Traveled down from the hotel we were staying in. . 96 cents one way each was a bargain for the very steep few minutes it took to get us down intob the city and beck up again. Would recommend staying up the hill fur the views and the funicular to get into Bilbao.

And what a view on the way! A great attraction and yet, as it is counted as public transport, it costs just one euro! Frequent service, up until 10pm! Brilliant.
