Pedestrian only area with narrow street full of interesting shops, bars, restaurants. Always look up our guide told us and it was true. The buildings are beautiful and as you wander round the streets you come across a variety of interesting shops to explore. The "El menu del dia" available for lunch is really good value with local dishes to... More

Bilbao is a wonderful city to visit and, similar to many European cities, its old centre, the Casco Viejo, is delightful to walk through with many interesting shops, great architecture and good places to eat. However I found the the more modern left bank more interesting - better bars and far more interesting modern architecture (and that's not including the... More

The Old Town Casco Viejo is a great place to wander, immerge yourself with the locals pintxos trail, have a zurito or two, get lost in the Siete Calles and dodge the dreaded Bilbao drizzle!! I couls wander these streets all day, love it.

The lovely narrow streets of Casio video were delightful to explore. From facades of old establishments and houses, to a lovely cathedral, to the collections of people enjoying Plaza Neuvo or pinchos and laughter, to urban touches, like clothes put out to dry under umbrellas. Colorful with surprises at each turn.

Bilbao is a wonderful city! The city, the people and the food are fabulous! Make time to see the city by foot and head towards the old part of the city - there are beautiful buildings, squares, cafes, restaurants, ice cream places, and musicians. Everyone gathers in the streets early evening and the place comes alive. It really is wonderful!

By far best part of Bilbao! So cute! Loved the little shops! Particularly liked the Original Tea Shop.

A must if you're visiting Bilbao. Great "Pintxo" bars at "Plaza Nueva", "Calle Somera" and "Calle Santamaria". Young al chilled atmosphere.

I had lowish expectations of Bilbao as a town, but the Casco Viejo was great, with lots of interesting shops, plenty of pintxo bars and - for this night at least - the sight of grown people following a large electrically lit sardine around the streets. The whole place is small, intricate and fun. It felt genuine and different. I'd... More

After visiting the Guggenheim we walked along the river to the Old Town and wandered the streets to find a restaurant. There is lots of choice and everywhere is reasonably priced.
