A delight to sit out, eat drink and absorb the feel of a buzzing square full of bars/restaurants. Watching (and experiencing) waiters/bar staff pour cider from a height to aerate it is a treat. The locals/experienced diners NEVER pour it for themselves, the waiters flock around empty glasses.

Yeah, its a lot like other Plazas in Basque Spain but what's not to like about that? I like to sit on my butt, drink good wine/cider/beer, eat tapas and look around. I can indulge myself here in a really enjoyable location. So go here. Have a drink. You will be happy!

This plaza is a must if you go to Oviedo. The plaza itself and the environment is a pedestrian area (safe if you go with children) and you can sit down, enjoy a bottle of sidra (cider, traditional drink from Asturias) and some tapas and let time go by, enjoying the atmosphere and watching people go by. Of all the... More

Stop by this plaza and have yourself some sidra (it's a must order and a specialty of the north). People in Oviedo love dressing up and leisurely hanging out here. It's fantastic for people watching, grabbing some tapas and getting into deep conversation. Nice plaza but not super. The fountain here is very very old. There is also a market and many places to eat. The great markethall is also very near. A busy place with always a lot of people.

We were looking for a place to eat and found Restaurante El Fontán (see my review there). And walking away from it, we stumbled onto this. The square was bustling with people and it was almost 5pm! It looked as though all the restaurants there were full. Why didn't we find this square before? I'm sure we'd had a more... More

Small but very pretty square. Completely full at lunch hours since there are several restaurants there. Great atmosphere.

Nice place to wander and have a local Sidra and a bite to eat. The local sideras serve the cider pouring from a great height.
