I'm an eleven year old girl and i loved it. It is amazing! You think your just in a simple every day botanical garden, but there is much more to it. If you explore properly, you find you enter an amazing forest with a river, and then, as you walk, you find an arrow that leads towards the kids forest,... More

The gardens are a little bit out of town, but they are a great place for a relaxing stroll and to learn more about the flora of the area. The exhibits explaining local history of farming are interesting and the cafe is good for a small snack.

Wish you to visit this place, have also a tour at the University nearby. Plus you have there a tower you can go on the top of and see the landscape around. The Botanic garden itself is nice and coupled to another visit will make your day.

We went there in mid April. It might be too early as there were not many flowers around. For enthusiasts, there are many plant species - I've noticed avocados on the trees. A small exhibition isn't very interesting, to me at least. There is a nice little forest with forest trail, stream... One thing not to forget - use sun... More

We went there in March and it is pretty much dead then. The vegetation and the numbers of people. However the woodland walk made the whole visit worthwhile and you could easily visualise what it would look like in the spring/summer. It's only 2-3 euros to get in and is on many of the bus routes. There is also a... More

We had a few hours to fill on our last day. Walked the 3 kms to the gardens which are part of the University complex. Very well laid out and interesting. Did not see more than a third due to time. Also in January most attractive displays are enjoying a winter rest so there was not a lot to see... More

We visited the gardens in October. They weren't exactly as we had imagined but we were really taken by the tranquil setting and varied garden landscapes. There is an ancient woodland, a old private garden with a naturalistic swimming pool hidden in the trees, a woodland walk by the stream, a productive garden and a small museum. It is not... More

Located on the outskirts of Gijon near Laboral the Botanic Gardens are well worth a visit and will keep old and younger visitors happily occupied for a good few hours. The gardens are interpreted in Spanish and English and also contain informative exhibitions, a cafe and shop.
