We called into the port of Aviles whilst on a cruise and this magnificent Church towered the skyline so we decided to visit it inside . Inside it was beautiful and the ornate wood work carvings and pictures do the outside justice, Its amazing that we in our country seem to have less churches to this standard.

I had to visit this church jusr because it was dedicated to Thomas Beckett! An imposing edifice, in the centre of one of my favourite cities. The interior has been well maintained, but has the patina of the years - it dates to the 13th century, I believe. The high altar is a typically ornate Spanish affair. The columns are... More
