The Golden Tower (Torre del Oro) is a beutiful tower and one of the classic icons of Seville. From this spot, Spanish traders launched their conquests of the New World. We found the building to be closed. However, the exterior is majestic and is a "must hit" spot for photo buffs. We just stopped by the tower on the way to a boat cruise, as I was keen to take a closer look. No signs, no notices, no information at all - just a couple of old cannon irons lying either side of a blank, closed door.
