It is really worth the visit! I went there in 1999 and I remember that the colors on the wall were like new. The architecture is superb, an example of arabian art. You cannot miss it if you go to Sevilla! more

Really should visit when in Seville. It's also really worth paying 4 euros extra to go round the royal apartments (part of the Alcazar still used by the royal family when in town) - they don't seem to advertise this much, presumably because they couldn't cope with large numbers. more

Astonishing complex, a must see while in Seville. Don`t try to walk around during summer afternoon, cause it`s simply unbearable because of the heat. more

We loved this place. It was such a nice change after the crazy crowds at the Alhambra that it actually remains in our memory as the most beautiful Moorish palace in Andalucia. I'd recommend going there in the late afternoon when it's quiet and taking the time to see the gardens. In the summer they also have cheap outdoor concerts... more

If you go in the summer quickly make your way to the gardens and save the buildings for the hotter part of the day. While not the setting of the Alhambra in Granada I loved this structure and its shaded gardens - do not miss it. more

To visit the Real Alcazar you will need, at least, half a day; the palace inside and the outside gardens. Its has moorish origins but it was mostly constructed by the spanish monarchs. This is one example that, when different cultures are united and respects each other, the result would be... just fabulous! Was built by Spanish with arabian influences,... more

I loved the city of Seville and the highlight for me was the Alcazar. Totally underated and equal to the Alhambra in Granada. Probably a lowlight was the expensive food around the cathedral. I took a trip out of the city with an Australian called Paul McGrath. (theotherspain.galeon.com) Absolutely fantastic, he was knowledgeable and courteous and showed us some beautiful... more

The first time I visited Sevilla with my Dad, we had our hearts set on visiting the Cathedral. However, once inside, it was busy, and being terrified of crowds, I had to escape. We saw a sign for the Alcazar, and due to the fact it was lunch, there was no queue. We went inside, paid the amazing low entrance... more

The Alcazar is a beutiful Christian palace built in the Moorish style. For those familiar with the Alhambra in Grenada, you might be disappointed, but if this is your first exposure to Moorish arcitecture, you'll find it rewarding. For photo buffs, this is a great site to capture good shots. More on our trip to Seville: http://justanothertravelblog.blogspot.com/2008/11/seville-spain.html more
