Guy Mountfort was the prime instigator of the successful financing for purchasing land that saved the Doñana as we know it today. And yet you would never know it, unless you read various literature and references made in some official documents. It simply beggars belief that no visitor centre, no monument, no plaque or Park literature pays respect to the... More

We had heard about this park and wanted to visit. From Estepona it was a 4 hour journey there, and again back via a different route. It is in the middle of nowhere. Missed El Rocio - maybe worth a quick visit if you are there. It is host to a pilgrimage May/June (Pentecost time) full of travellers with horses.... More

We booked a four hour tour and were very satisfied. The guide spoke perfectly fine English, seated us next to him so he used the microphone for the Spanish people in the back and English for us. We visited in winter when there were loads of birds and were given reasonable binoculars for pretty beginning bird watchers. We saw most... More

What can you say. It made the standard. The desire to preserve this area for future generations and the effort to return it to nature is on going and impressive. Enough trails for you to enjoy. The woods, the wetlands, the beaches.

June ought to have been a great time to visit the park, unfortunately apart from the sand dunes which were worth seeing. The park was just about devoid of wild life, a few deer, cows and horses none of the spectacular items as described on the website. I know we do not have any control over nature not turning up but to... More

Take a ride in a large dune buggy through the beaches, marshes and pine forests to see red and fallow deer, wild boars, many birds. Bring binoculars, hats, mosquito repellant.

We visited in September so didnt expect much water in the marshes....there was none so no waterbirds at all. We did see red deer, fallow deer, a fox and a lot of birds of prey but these were in the main a long way off and you certaily needed the binoculars they issue. We were not in one of the... More

That one of the best kept secret, a sahara in the middle of Spain, amazing sand dunes. One of the most wild and best beach, pine tree forest, swamp and passionate guides to show you around if you take on of the 4 hours official 4W bus tour given from the information centers.

From here you can access really nice walks ont the moguer trail which starts on the same street just turn left from the hotel and walk over a new road being built. This runs... More
