This is a beautiful area of Granada and well worth a visit. There is a great view of the Alhambra palace from here. The shops are excellent for souveniers and there are lots of Tapas areas! More

A charming maze of narrow alleys opening out into piazzas and parks, one comes across surprises at every turn. But our first experience of it was disappointing - it was a rainy day and we happened to walk along rather uninteresting alleys, untill we came upon the street full of shops selling cheap Moorish tourist trash, and the rather touristy... Easily accessible from our hotel. Felt safe at all times during day, although it would be easy to get mixed up in the narrow streets. Wonderful sights and sounds. More

The Albaicin neighborhood is a great place to just wonder around & get lost (which is easy to do because the “streets” are so narrow & windy) I know you can take a bus up to Mirador de San Nicolas but I think finding your way through the Albaicin neighborhood is a much better option (if you are able to... I found it somewhat useless trying to use a map here, and that really didn't matter. Simply meander about and let yourself be surprised at every turning. More

Met some fellow Muslim locals at the mosque, and they was so friendly, I felt like have known them for a long time. Had tea at a local shop, I don't remember the shop names and had a splendid evening talking about the town history. More

You first encounter all the shops then you get lost in the residential part. You definitely need a good map. Asthe streets are fairly narrow you can't count on the sun to guide you and most of the time there is no landmark within your sight to be used as a point of reference. Unfortunately, a lot of graffitis. More
