I expected my visit to the Alhambra to be the highlight of my trip. However, my visit was significantly marred by staff related issues, a lack of proactive thinking, confusing information and a complicated ticket buying system. In fact, I was shocked that such an important World Heritage Site should be so poorly run. While I'm not going to make... more

The Alhambra is a castle in the city of Granada, Andalucia, Spain. It sits atop the hill overlooking the city, adjacent to the hill of the old neighborhood known as the Albaicin. The Alhambra provides evidence of the history of Spain from the 4th century or even before, with much of its structure from the 14th century as the Catholic... more

If you go first thing in the morning it can be a bit chilly, so it isbest to take an extra layer of clothing. You have a set amount of time in each building so that it is never too crowded, but you can spend more time in the gardens which were very impressive. There are open air concerts held... more

I booked our trip to Granada because I wanted to visit the Alhambra after having seen so many beautiful photos of it. I was not disappointed. The architecture is stunning and the views across Granada are amazing. The site is huge and we spent several hours wandering rounds the rooms and gardens. more

I've been to the Alhambra twice, first in 1992 in my mid twenties and recently, 2009, accompanied by my husband and our two children. If anything my appreciation grows with each visit. I truly hope I get to return again one day and visit this amazing place. The palace is exceptional and the gardens are shear paradise. The Albayzin area... more

Every one should visit the Alhambra!! I have travelled the world and the Alhambra really made an impression on me. You have to view from the outside to appreciate the beauty of the inside. There are few places I would return to as there is so much of the world to be seen BUT the Alhambra takes first place in... more

The entire Palace complex is fascinating, stunning and beautifully maintained. Although there are literally thousands of visitors, access to the Nasrid Palace, the most popular, is time controlled thus access to the other areas, the Alcazaba, the Palace of Carlos V and the Gardens of the Generaliffe, all quite beautiful. Because the maintenance and security are so good visitors seem... more

Because we enjoyed our visit to the Alhambra the previous day, we bought tickets for the night visit the following evening. WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT ! The visit is solely to the Nasiri Palace but only the ground floor is open at night, no effort has been made to create any atmosphere and the visit took no more than 30... more
