La Carihuela/Montemar continues to be a favourite place for many on the Costa Del Sol and we've been back for the fith year. The place retains its charm, sandwiched as it is between the bigger resorts of Torremolinos and Benalmadena but it is worth noting that you may need a bit more spending money than last year. Food, in particular,... more

I've been going to La Carihuela since I was 4 years old and I never tire of the place. You can soak up the local Spanish culture and try some amazing food. It does also cater for those people who want more traditional British bars and food. We go about three times a year and there is always something new... more

Well, after 24 years of going the Carihuela it still exciting packing my case again. I love the place with a passion, its got to be the best of everything from the beach, the fabulous restaurants and no drunk Brits, an all round resort. I took my children there in 1986 and a year later got myself a little apartment... more

I adore the Carihuela and I always will. I was 20 when I first went there and I loved it from the very first moment. It was just a nice small place where you could enjoy yourselves, good food, a lovely beach. I found romance there which lasted for many years although we never married. Now I am in my... more

We are looking forward to our sixth holiday at the Palm Beach Club.....Why?... La Cihuela is a great place in it's own right...miles of Paseo maritimo, great beaches and so much to see and do locally....But consider much more the area as a whole, a short taxi ride will take you to many places that will keep your camera or... more

La carihuela / Montemar is a small "resort" between Torremolinos and Benalmadena and is an ideal place for anyone who wants the Costa del sol without the fuss of the big towns. La Carihuela lies toward the east and Montemar to the west with Montemar alto slightly inland. It is a short 10 to 15 minute walk along the seafront... more

I have been to all the Costa resorts in Spain and never really wanted a second visit, until we accidentally stumbled on La Carihuela. It is like a magnet drawing you back year after year, esecially in July when the Fiesta is on. We have been 5 times now, last year we were there on July 12th when the Fiesta... more

I cannot tell you how excited I am. About to jet off to La Carihuela again on 4 May and am taking my 81 year old mother for her first holiday in 7 years. I know that La Carihuela will suit her perfectly. Nice and flat for her to explore with her two new knee replacements. Little shops and bars... more
