Nice Friendly Course

Good course for the money. Lots of variety. Back 9 tough if you don't hit straight due to abundance of trees. Pace of at pretty good given the challenging course.

The greens showed the wear and tear of a hot, busy summer we were told after complaining. Surely watering and management could have improved them. We experienced black patches, cracks, poor grass and pitch marks peppered across the greens. Two days later (October 1st) we played at Alcaidesa and what a treat that was - beautiful greens. So, it can... More

As part of a group of golfers we played Rio Real for the second time in 10 years. It has improved over the years although it was the most expensive that we played this year. The golf course was however in great shape and probably had the best greens we played on all week. A nice touch at the 10th... More

Clubhouse was very nice and the service was good. The course however was not. Bare fairways and patchy greens. Not worth the €175 to play. Too many holes along side eachother and balls coming in from all directions.

This was recommended to me, by someone who knows my game well. He said this is just perfect for you, long and you can open your shoulders on most holes and the odd bad one won’t kill you. I have to say, he was absolutely right, this is a big golf course. Measuring over 6,600 yards off the daily tees... More

Ok golf club rated 4 out of the 6 we played - greens ok fairways and tees ok but nothing memorable on the course for me - played this 3 times now and not bad by any means.

A beautiful course - We played here on the 22nd May. We were a 4 ball with buggies sent out behind 2 4 balls with trolleys, so as you can image this was not a quick round. For whatever reason the trolley golfers did not continue onto the 10th so we were in a position to move a little quicker,... More

Not to.difficult. pretty flat and holes are very playable. Bunkers were not good. Greens were not the best. Depending on what price you paid, reasonable value for the Costa Del Golf.

The course always provides a great test of golf with excellent facilities and club house. I love the 4th hole that ends up on the beach with the Med in touching distance. Highly recommended.

We play and review all 40 golf courses on the Costa del Sol (between Gibraltar and Malaga). The Rio Real golf club is 45 years old, large, with attached hotel and golf tutoring. Rio Real is basically a parkland golf course, although not completely flat. Half the holes have moderate slope. A few holes only have elevation tee-to-green of more... More
