We only had a few hours in Malaga before our flight home, so we strolled round some of the old town before popping into the museum for about 30 mins. We visited mid morning on Saturday; there we no queues and we could admire the art in a relaxed manner. The entry procedure (tickets and bag check) were efficient and... more

Picasso surely had been sad about this museum in his birthtown. Nothing wrong with the building, but what is exhibited is not worth the time. Omst intresting was the ruins downstair, so do not miss them if you go here, what I do not suggest anyway. more

I like art and typically like art galleries/museums. But I left this place far less impressed with Picasso than when I arrived. So in a kind of counter-intuitive way I suppose it was worth going; but I was booooooored. If you do go make sure you don't miss the ruins in the basement. more

We stumbled across this museum on our first day in Malaga. The "Moments and Gazes. Picasso as Seen by Otero" exhibit was on and it was a pure delight to saunter through. more

Have just got back from visit to Malaga. Went to see Picasso paintings but large part of it not on show as they are re-furbishing it so very disappointed, although they did reduce the admission price. more

I was interested to see all the great reviews on this museum-I found the place rather disappointing. The building itself is wonderful but the paintings and ceramics were quite bizarre-what do you expect from Picasso i hear you say! The best part was the small cinema which shows an oldish review of Picass'os life. Do not miss the beach for... more

This is a great museum in a fantastic building. Anyone interested in art should go. However expect to see a lot of sketches and fewer finished works although there are plenty. The key tip is to go early at 10am when it opens. Then you will find it quiet and can really look at the items. If you go later... more

Every admirer of Picasso must have this on their list of places to visit. I preferred it to the one in Barcelona (which focuses on his early work). It's a light & airy gallery (with wonderful air-conditioning). There was a small queue when I arrived at 11.30am. The museum shop has a comprehensive stock of books about his work &... more

What a wonderful find in the heart of Malaga!....Was great to see the more unknown works of Picasso. The musuem is off of a wonderful shopping street and fairly well marked. No photos in the Musuem of course so you must leave your camera at the front coat check area. Wonderful small gift shop with great books in so many... more

Like other posters we found the displays slightly disappointing. Those not fans of Cubism etc will find his early work interesting I think, likewise the ceramics and other objects. Staff are (rightly I suppose) very keen on bag searches and leaving cameras at reception and youll find an eagle eyed person in every room. Entrance is E6. The building itself... more
