We went to Alcazaba from a cruise ship and traveled out to it on our own. A nice walk there through a park and then to the fort in about 10 minutes. It didn't open until 9:30 so we walked to the cathedral to kill some time. With student ID, it costs .60 Euros. Basically it is ruins, but there... more

The solid fortified walls of Alcazaba, a major landmark of the city, are hard to miss and give you a sense of the city's rich history. Its a great attraction and I recommend setting aside an hour or so to visit. more

What can be said about the Alcazaba, other than, WOW! Not only is it free (but that may have been as I am a student), but it is in such an accessible location, just a few minutes walk from the nearest bus stop. I visited Malaga during my summer holiday in 2008, by means of attending a Spanish language school.... more

One of the many cultural sights you can see in Malaga. The Alcazaba is situated in the town, and can easily be visited. Make sure you do visit it, as the views from the top of the Alcazaba are very good... and of course don't forget the very old history of this place, and its significance to Malaga and the... more

Very easily accessible from downtown Malaga, the Alcazaba is a well preserved piece of history. Beautiful architecture and gardens, it really shouldn’t be missed. I wish that there was more signage to help navigate through the structure; I had the constant fear that I was missing something. Plan to also see Castillo de Gibralfaro while you are there. Free admission... more

Hi there, After spending our vacations at the Pez Espada Hotel, Torremolinos every year from 1986 we visited the Alcazabar during September 2007 on a Sunday afternoon at approx. 2.00pm. The nice lady informed us that the elevator to the top was free of charge from 2.30pm and therefore we went for a walk until 2.30pm and we then returned... more

The Alcazaba is stunning. The views are great, plus the architecture is interesting. Everywhere you look there are plants, and it was very green even in August. I'd advise going as soon as it opens as I imagine it gets very hot after 11am. It's quite a steep walk up, or there is a lift (but this is accessed via... more

The Alcazaba is a great way to introduce yourself to Moorish Spain. Entrance fee is very cheap (if you're a student you only pay 0.60 euro) but the place is extremely well-kept. The gardens are charming and the views from the top are incredible. If you're in Málaga, don't miss out! more

I think this was my favourite attraction in all of Malaga. The views from the top were amazing and everything was beautiful and very well restored and clean! Free admission on Sunday afternoons after 2pm and well worth the time to walk around. more
