Climb a few stairs and see a few displays about naval exploits of the Spanish. Nice view of the river from the top.

a modern museum in the tower, with 8 halls, following the history of mankind, especially Andalusia. There are sections of Roman times, Alhambra and Nazrid glorious times and until 20th century in Cordoba. Very good choice of photos and models in order to understand Andalusias's history. And for only 4.5 euros plus 1.2 euros for the multivision slideshow.

This was a wonderful museum experience that brought the vibrant history of Cordoba to life. Of course, the view from the top of the tower is a big attraction, but the museum below shouldn't be overlooked. Highlights include the models of the great mosque of Cordoba and of the Alhambra of Granada. These both gave us new perspective, having seen... More

This excellent museum [Museo Vivo de Al-Andalus] is in the historic Calahorra Torre and we wished we’d visited it before crossing the bridge rather than afterwards. It is informative and explains much about the history of the immediate area and Andalucía in general, the cultural and religious changes and many other points which we hadn’t even considered before touring the... Check out the opening times before you walk across the bridge or you will end up going twice as we did. if that happens go back again because it really is worth the experience. You are given earphones which explain the history on Al Andalus and you will see models of the Mezquita and very good life size wax models... More

small castle or tower at end of the bridge, the translation of the name is the castle of freedom. At sunset the view from the top of it is amazing.

Defensive fortress, reportedly built in 12th century and restored by Henry II in 1369. It recently won a Cultural Heritage Award (see http://www.europanostra.org/awards/136/). The tower houses a museum (which charges admission) that has been well reviewed. It was closed at the time we were there, so check the Internet for operating hours. It is certainly attractive enough to photograph.

There are several floors that Entry fee comes with audio tour. Most of the exhibits have a small talk about them. There is a long talk with they talk about the people who ruled the area. I enjoyed listening to this to learn more about the changes in Spain. It was interesting because it was not that long for each... More

Its all about the history of a place, this tower forms the entrance to the bridge that crosses the river, must have been very impressive when constructed, the whole place is now a museum.

I recommend this place to everyone who wishes to witness a fair & inclusive depiction of history. Seldom can we encounter the portrayal of a diverse population & their historical, philosophical & cultural legacies done in a respectable & comprehensive manner. Whoever are behind the Tower Museum, kudos to all of you. The building is small enough to make it... More
