The Natural Park (not a National Park, mind you) is a worn volcanic landscape that has several villages and is a free space. Interesting, but not indispensable.
So much of the Spanish Mediterranean coastline has been spoilt be development. This unspoilt are therefore is very special. There are saltpans with hides where you can see flamingos and other interesting birds. there are beautiful quiet beaches, little villages, miradors and the mountains. I only spent a day there but will definitely go back and explore further.
Going towards the lighthouse, you come across an old fishing village, which is really great. Although you cant visit the lighthouse it is worth the drive going through the nature reserve.
Many wonderful walks, beautiful beaches , good weather. we have been coming here for 12 years and think it is the best part of Spain to visit in January- March.

That of course shouldn't detract from the... More
Absolutely incredible! Do not leave without a stop at Playa de Los Muertos and Playa del Playazo (with Playa del Monsul a close runner up with good spots for bouldering); although the whole coastline along this park is amazing these were my 2 favorite beaches for swimming, snorkeling and relaxing away from the rest of the world. I home-based in... More
Went on coach tour passing by Oasys. Stunning scenery, huge mountains and desert where spaghhetti westerns, and Lawrence of Arabia were filmed. Very impressive.
