Must see in Erfurt. Impressing. Two cathedrals close to each other. Both catholic churches but from different times. Worth to visit from inside as well. With Cranach paintings.

If you want to see an example of beautiful religious architecture, this is a great place to visit. It is very majestic at night when it is lit up.

As is common in many German Cities and Towns the Domplatz is the central market area in the old part of Erfurt. A huge square located at the foot of two huge Churches here the vendors set up shop selling everything from meats and vegetables to clothing. Frequented by locals and tourists alike the square is surrounded by coffee shops... More

Impressive huge square in the town centre of Erfurt. Impressive if empty - but much more impressive if full of booths during the market. You can imagine how people felt humiliated when entering the Dome by climbing up the huge stairs to the entrance of during the Middle Ages.

The two massive, contrasting churches overlooking the large plaza filled with merchants selling their wares was more than I had imagined. Rather than just a tourist site, the area was an integral part of the community.

The place is really big and wide, so you can either go for a nice walk on a simple day or, if you are lucky enough, you can catch a market organized here. It also has beautiful houses and nice restaurants around. But the ost important is the Dom, of course, with 2 churches and beautiful views towards different parts... More

A must see when visiting Erfurt! A beautiful Gothic structure built in the 1400-1500 centuries houses the largest swinging medevil bell known for its purity and beautiful tones. Another important highlight are the stained glass windows that were disassembled and hidden during World War II in order to protect them. There are many beautiful artifacts to see, including the impressive... More
