We visited there off season, so not crowded. Still interesting. Had ice cream treat at Cafe Marleen, nice.
There is not extremely much to do in Travemunde if you are not looking for a walk by the seashore - it is rather pictures small town with very nice architectural masterpieces (constructivism points a bit far off the sea cost are simply wonderfull!!! and well worth seing). Overall it is nice place for relaxing stay on the beach (in... More
I visited Travemunde but was really disappointed as there wasn't much to see apart from the shops and the cafes. The only advantage is that shops are open on Sundays while in other places they are usually closed. The weather was windy and the sea looked really uninviting. I spent there about 3 hours and I think it's enough for... More
Went for the day from hamburg on the train cost 30 euros for 2 people group ticket , walked to the beach and had a drink in a beach cocktail bar with great views. Then walked along the coast to the shops and resteraunts, we went in one called Fisch-kombuse . We had grilled cod with fried potatoes and salad... More
The visit to Travemunde was a change in the itinerary on our P & O Baltic Cruise on board MS Arcadia in July 2013. We decided to remain in Travemunde for the day rather than take a trip to neighbouring Lübeck. There's not a lot to see but it is a pleasant and relaxing town with a welcoming atmosphere. We... More
We had luck. Our stay in Lübeck and Travemünde was in a week when the Temperatures were between 28-32. So we could swim and play on the beach, plus was the Travemünder Woche so it was really fun to be there!
I´ve visited several times, Travemunde´s attractive and laid back. There´s an excellent dog beach over the river and lots of restaurants with covered terraces where it´s comfortable to eat if you have your dog in tow. True, there´s not a hell of a lot to do, but there are plenty of decent walks and it´s a good base for seeing... More
Its a nice place for a day trip on a sunny day offcourse. Baltic Sea is wonderful and the colorful shades make view very nice. There is not much to see , its the beach are and the light house...so a day trio is the best option...very nice restaurants near the beach ....
We were pleasantly surprised. The promenade near the sea and the bay is very long and pleasant. The old town part is small but nice. There was a Jazz festival that day, and it was nice listening to the music, eating and drinking. A real pleasant experience to just relax and rest.
