I was really looking forward to visiting the Aquarium in Kiel.
The building is right next to the port which is a great location.
The pools with the seals are outdoors in front of the building and accessible by and visible to pedestrians and visitors alike.
The entrance fee for the aquarium is 3 Euros which is very reasonable compared...

The aquarium was much smaller than we expected yet we spent quite some time there. It was a freezing cold day, don't expect any cafe nearby where you can warm up again! This is outside the city centre.

The best bit of the Aquarium Kiel is the seal tank which is on the outside on the sea front and you can see for free. Inside is tiny, just two rooms. The fish are mainly from the local seas and lakes.
