Laboe Naval Memorial (Marine-Ehrenmal) The Naval Memorial consists of a large brick tower overlooking the sea, a “crypt” remembering the fallen sailors of all nations as well as a very good and informative exhibition of German naval forces since the 19th century. This is a tower by the sea in the village of Laboe which lies about 10km outside Kiel. It is a memorial to the naval dead from both World Wars and was built after WWI.
