This "car assembly plant" is architecturally stunning and is worth the 5 euros entry fee on its own. VW assemble the phaeton models here. This is their top of the range model and it is interesting to see the assembly process, and check out the cars after the tour.Tours in English take place at 12 and 3pm and last about... More

Rainy day took us here and we were not disappointed. Hubby was more excited than me but I was not disappointed. The English tour did not start for 3 hours so we visited the local Hygiene Museum which I would not recommend but the restaurant located there is Fantastic. Fantastic tour whatever the weather and at €5 each well worth... More

This visit exceeded my expectation by far! It was so interesting to hear about and see all stages of the car assembly in this impeccably clean factory with all the workers wearing white. Very beautiful high technology building, extremely interesting tour! A must if you pass by Dresden.

I can't believe I am recommending a car factory but I really enjoyed this visit. The building is stunning, you can look around a small exhibition area and enjoy the ambience of the building but it is best to book a guided tour. We had to book for the next day. I am not interested in cars but if you are... More

There are a few times when you go to places and you really get inspired by what they have done and how they have thought differently...well this is one of those places. It was first class; from the look of the building, to the excellent people working at reception, to the tour guides and their entire presentation. I left there... More

There are not many other factories like this, that VW built as showcase of its power and excellence. And with a great result. The factory is not just a factory itself but it hosts also concerts and exhibitions, really unique (when the city was flooded in 2002, Semperoper moved here some activities).

I expected it to be another factory visit but it turned out to be an amazing experience, with design studios to custom design the cars, to transparent walls with minimal noise, shop floor employees in white and most of the stiff moving around on its own. Add to it the fact that it host art and culture events regularly while... More

Looking more like an Opera House than a Car Assembly Plant, this building never ceases to amaze me. I love the factory tour and at 5 Euro is not expensive. The Phaeton car that is VW's Luxury Model is assembled here and this is now my 5th visit, but I will come back again on my next trip to keep... More

Hard to believe how simple, but how complex and complicated, the build of an exclusive car - The Volkswagen Phaeton. The production and assembly process simply amazing. Do not allow to photograph inside.

Yes, the building is impressive and very clean for a factory. Maybe the tour would have been more interesting if there were technicians working on the assembly of a car. But, we had a very young tour guide who didn't seem to be able to add any more information than the script he had memorized. And that script was not... More
