We visited the factory during the week so we were able to see the workers actually working on the cars. It was neat seeing all of the robotics involved in the process. The place was incredibly clean and it was fun seeing the cars move to different parts of the factory. This is a must for a car buff. The... More

The time of our visit was during the weekend and the workers were not there working on the cars. I would suggest to go during weekdays. The factory is really amazing. My favourite part was when we could actually try out the cars at the end.

If you want a change of pace from history and culture in Dresden then this is likely to appeal. A car factory with a difference, in that it is designed to allow easy viewing of the final assembly stage of a car's manufacture. At 5 Euro per person for a 90 minute tour it is good value and cheap enough... More

Amazing building (looks more like a modern gallery than the car factory), excellent and very interesting tour, fantastic car tower and much more - Dresden VW factory is simply something extraordinary and an absolute must-see for every car enthusiast! Highly recommend to visit! (PS: Many thanks to Andrea Jirků, our nice, fun and very helpful tour guide!)

We have visited car manufacturing plants in Munich, Bowling Green, and Detroit. This was unlike any of them. It is an amazingly quiet environment and spotless. There are only 4 robots in the entire factory and they do those things that humans cannot do better. The rest of the assembly jobs are done by teams of workers who learn several... More

If you are requesting an English speaking tour email or call in advance to ensure it is running that day. We received amazing service when we booked our tour--both an email and phone call confirmation. If you are interested in manufacturing, cars or systems processes this tour will be a highlight of our trip to Dresden. Our guide was wonderful... More

This "car assembly plant" is architecturally stunning and is worth the 5 euros entry fee on its own. VW assemble the phaeton models here. This is their top of the range model and it is interesting to see the assembly process, and check out the cars after the tour.Tours in English take place at 12 and 3pm and last about... More

Rainy day took us here and we were not disappointed. Hubby was more excited than me but I was not disappointed. The English tour did not start for 3 hours so we visited the local Hygiene Museum which I would not recommend but the restaurant located there is Fantastic. Fantastic tour whatever the weather and at €5 each well worth... More

This visit exceeded my expectation by far! It was so interesting to hear about and see all stages of the car assembly in this impeccably clean factory with all the workers wearing white. Very beautiful high technology building, extremely interesting tour! A must if you pass by Dresden.
