Once Dresden's defensive ramparts, this terrace now serves as one of Europe's most charming promenades. Below and to the left is the Augustus Bridge connecting the Old Town with the New Town with the picturesque Elbe River in between. As you walk along the terrace or beyond, you will see some of the fleet of old paddleboat steamers that offer... More

You are walking on a somewhat higher elevation and look down onto the river Elbe while at the same time appreciate the landscape in a parklike setting.

I have been there many times and in different seasons of the year. No matter what time of the year it is, it is so relaxing to stroll along or sit down on one of the benches and watch the people go by. Or just watch artistic pieces near the stairway. Or watch the shis go by, there are always... More

It was raining the two days we were there so we just walked along here for a bit but this would be a great place to sit and relax on a sunny day - quite with a nice view of the site and river.

Great esplanade with very nice view on the Elbe and the historical buildings of Dresden. We had dinner at a terrace there and witnessed a beautiful sunset and saw the old city be illuminated. Impressive!

This is the best spot in old town Dresden in my opinion: shops and restaurants nearby, magnificent old buildings on one side, Elbe River on the other side. Aside from marveling at the old, historical structures, this is also a good spot for tourist- and people-watching in general.

Just a short walk from the Altmarkt and a great spot to sit and have a break from all the sightseeing and to observe life on the river. Stunning views of the surrounding buildings and with some good restaurants. Street musicians enhance the atmosphere of the Bruehl Terrace. Nearby are also the boarding points for river cruises and the bridge... More

The Bruehl Terrace has a lovely view on the Elb river. I would recommend to walk there and enjoy the view during sunset hours.

Beautiful terrace - a real Dresden postcard place. The buildings on the terrace have all been beautifully restored, so it is worth walking around. From the terrace you can see across the Elbe to Neustadt which is interesting (maybe not super beautiful).

This is the starting point of your trip to Dresden.Moernings, afternoons or evenings, no matter what time of day. There are lovely terraces for drinks and even for food on Bruehl Terrace. Bring binoculars so you can see the other side of the river. Beautiful buildings. A visit to the Albertinum Museum is a must! You are not allowed to take... More
