The Dresden skyline is very unique with the majority of the city's main buildings on display side by side. The waterfront is also very picturesque and pretty so it is a really nice walk on either side of the river.

After walking through and around the Zwinger, I stopped at a nearby Italian restaurant by the river for lunch, then continued along the Terrace, admiring the many baroque buildings and the view of the river Elbe and boats arriving and departing. It was a busy place with many tourists walking around, but the wide walkways accomodated everyone. Strongly recommend a... More

Lovely view of Elbe river, the Catholic Cathedral, the Royal apartments. Tourists can also see the Procession of Princes from this vantage point.

Walking along here provided photo opportunities a mass and a rich feeling of history. A worthwhile spot to visit for a stroll.

Once Dresden's defensive ramparts, this terrace now serves as one of Europe's most charming promenades. Below and to the left is the Augustus Bridge connecting the Old Town with the New Town with the picturesque Elbe River in between. As you walk along the terrace or beyond, you will see some of the fleet of old paddleboat steamers that offer... More

This garden at the eastern end of the Bruhl Terrace provides a great view of the Elbe River and the Augustus Bridge. The garden is very pretty and offers a nice and serene setting for a quite and restful time.

You are walking on a somewhat higher elevation and look down onto the river Elbe while at the same time appreciate the landscape in a parklike setting.

I have been there many times and in different seasons of the year. No matter what time of the year it is, it is so relaxing to stroll along or sit down on one of the benches and watch the people go by. Or just watch artistic pieces near the stairway. Or watch the shis go by, there are always... More
