This is the starting point of your trip to Dresden.Moernings, afternoons or evenings, no matter what time of day. There are lovely terraces for drinks and even for food on Bruehl Terrace. Bring binoculars so you can see the other side of the river. Beautiful buildings. A visit to the Albertinum Museum is a must! You are not allowed to take... More

A fine way of getting your bearings and at the same time seeing some of Dresden's finest buildings from an unusual angle. But watch out for the elegantly dressed ladies waiting to pounce on unexpecting visitors!

as my hotel backed on to this was back and forth day in day out as easy to cut through and lovely breeze came up from the Elbe below with all the lovely boats though a shame not to see any actually floating down the Elbe

In the summer, a nice place to walk, sit and rest under the trees or grab a coffee and cake at one of the cafes.

You have to go here, of course, but the view is not the one you want because the terrace faces away from the Old City Center. You want to go across the river and see the Canaletto view.

Great place to sit and relax after a day of sightseeing. You can just suck in the beauty of Dresden and look at the great views from the terrace.

I fell in love with Dresden just watching life from the benches near the river. Walk along here because it has this strange calm, even when there are lots of people.

One crosses the Elbe river on the Augustus bridge & enters the old world charm of Dresden`s life with the musicians playing their tunes & the painters engaged in painting the life around. There is also a new masters gallery & a collection of sculptures near by.

Grab a coffee or beer and sit here for a while, enjoying the splendors of the beautiful city or the river rolling by.

The wonderful old buildings along the southern bank of the Elbe are a delight to walk by (cafes, buskers and other strollers abound) but the view from across the river would fill a whole roll of film (that's an old-fashioned way of saying its worth taking lots of photos) - daytime or sunset!
